Samsung Electronics has announced a major expansion of its premium Micro RGB TV portfolio for 2026, introducing new models ranging from 55 inches to 115 inches. Building on the 115-inch flagship introduced in 2025, the updated lineup aims to make advanced RGB backlight technology accessible across a broader range of screen sizes and living spaces.
The new series includes 55-, 65-, 75-, 85-, 100-, and 115-inch models, positioning Micro RGB as Samsung’s top-tier offering for superior color accuracy, brightness, and immersive viewing.
With Samsung’s latest technology, our Micro RGB portfolio delivers vivid color and clarity that make movies, sports and TV shows feel more expressive and engaging, said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. By expanding the lineup for 2026, we’re establishing a new premium category with sizes that span the full range of modern living spaces while maintaining our highest picture standards.
What Makes Micro RGB Stand Out?
Micro RGB technology represents an evolution in LCD-based displays. Unlike traditional Mini-LED TVs that use white or blue backlights with color filters, Micro RGB employs sub-100 micrometer red, green, and blue LEDs that emit light independently. This enables precise light control, resulting in enhanced color volume and accuracy—certified to cover 100% of the BT.2020 color gamut by VDE.
Key enhancements for the 2026 lineup include:
- Micro RGB AI Engine Pro: A next-generation AI chipset for frame-by-frame optimization, including 4K AI Upscaling Pro and AI Motion Enhancer Pro for smoother motion and sharper details.
- Precision Color 100: Refined RGB dimming for hyper-realistic colors and higher brightness.
- Glare Free Technology: Samsung’s patented anti-reflective coating to maintain contrast in bright rooms.
- Vision AI Companion: An upgraded multi-agent platform with LLM-powered Bixby for conversational search, recommendations, and features like Live Translate and Generative Wallpaper.
On the audio side, all models support Dolby Atmos, Adaptive Sound Pro, and Q-Symphony, plus the new Eclipsa Audio system rolling out across Samsung’s 2026 TVs for immersive 3D sound.
Competition Heating Up in Premium Displays
The announcement comes as rivals like LG prepare their own RGB-based TVs (dubbed Micro RGB evo) for debut at CES 2026. Industry analysts note that RGB backlights could challenge OLED’s dominance in color performance, particularly in brighter environments, while offering advantages over standard Mini-LED in vibrancy and precision.
Samsung will showcase the full 2026 Micro RGB lineup at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from January 6-9, where pricing, availability, and hands-on demos are expected.
While the existing 115-inch Micro RGB model retails around $30,000, the addition of smaller sizes is anticipated to broaden appeal, potentially making this cutting-edge technology more attainable for premium home theaters. Stay tuned for updates from CES.
