JBL BassPro Go2 is a two-in-one audio system that works as a powered subwoofer when locked onto its 12-volt docking base and becomes a portable, full-range Bluetooth speaker the moment it’s released. Built for marine environments and rough outdoor use, JBL BassPro Go2 gives boaters deeper bass underway, then comes along to the dock, beach, campsite, tailgate, jobsite or home once the boat trip is over — a different kind of portability than JBL’s recently launched Pulse 6.
JBL BassPro Go2 Produces Up to 200 Watts Peak as a Docked Subwoofer
Whether cruising open water or anchored at a sandbar, JBL BassPro Go2 is built to deliver the low-frequency impact expected from a dedicated subwoofer. A 140mm active subwoofer, passive radiators, dual 40mm full-range transducers and efficient Class D amplification work together inside a compact enclosure to produce 100 watts continuous and 200 watts peak in subwoofer mode. JBL’s Smart Loudspeaker Control continuously models the audio signal to maximize bass output and overall volume at higher listening levels, while reducing distortion and protecting the transducers from mechanical and thermal stress.
IPX4-Rated and Built to Dock Without Tools
JBL BassPro Go2 carries an IPX4 rating and adds UV and salt-spray protection, with a conformal-coated circuit board guarding the electronics and an integrated handle for grab-and-go use. The same compact design suits boats, canoes, kayaks and fishing trips as readily as trucks, cars, UTVs, RVs and commercial vehicles. The supplied base plate installs in multiple onboard or in-vehicle locations, and a quick-disconnect power and charging harness lets owners dock or remove JBL BassPro Go2 without tools; while docked, the system can reinforce an existing audio setup with low end or act as the primary full-range source, with a included remote bass control offering level adjustment from the helm or driver’s seat.
Removed from its base, JBL BassPro Go2 delivers up to eight hours of portable playback from its rechargeable battery, with a multifunction USB-C connection supporting MP3 and WAV playback, firmware updates and 5V/2.1A charging for compatible phones and other USB-powered devices, plus a included AC home adapter for recharging away from the boat or vehicle. Available for the first time on a JBL marine product, the JBL ONE app adds full-range/subwoofer mode switching, three bass-boost settings, stereo pairing, volume and playback control, product naming and Auracast assistance, alongside compatibility with the JBL Token Bluetooth Low Energy remote for track, volume, play, pause and mute control.
Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast Broadcast Audio
Bluetooth 5.4 gives JBL BassPro Go2 an outdoor wireless range of up to roughly 98 feet, while Auracast Broadcast Audio lets it share audio with other compatible products, including JBL’s Auracast-enabled full-range speakers — in a supported setup, JBL BassPro Go2 can supply wireless low-frequency reinforcement while separate speakers distribute full-range sound around the boat, dock or campsite.
Pricing and availability
JBL has not yet published US pricing or a release date for JBL BassPro Go2; full details are in JBL’s official announcement. The package includes the speaker itself, a remote bass control, base plate, pigtail harness, home power adapter and installation manual, with more information available at jbl.com once the product goes live.
