Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, a groundbreaking tri-fold device that transforms the humble phone into a 10-inch productivity powerhouse. Building on a decade of pioneering foldable technology, the Z TriFold marries ultra-portable design with AI-driven performance, delivering an immersive display for multitasking, cinematic viewing, and seamless connectivity. For high-end enthusiasts who demand the intersection of engineering excellence and everyday elegance, this isn’t just a phone—it’s a mobile command center that folds into your pocket.
Masterclass in minimalism
At first glance, the Galaxy Z TriFold is a masterclass in minimalism: a sleek, inward-folding form factor that slims down to just 3.9mm at its thinnest point (excluding the camera and pre-installed protective film), making it as portable as any premium slab phone. But unfold it once for a tablet-like expanse, and twice more to reveal a vast 10-inch Dynamic 2X AMOLED main screen—boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2600 nits peak brightness on the cover display, and Vision Booster technology for optimized visuals in any lighting. The secret sauce lies in Samsung‘s Armor FlexHinge, a dual-rail system with dual-sized hinges that ensure buttery-smooth folding without creases or gaps, protected by a reinforced overlay and shock-absorbing layers. Advanced materials like a titanium hinge housing, Advanced Armor Aluminium frame, and a ceramic glass fiber-reinforced polymer back panel add durability without bulk, while rigorous quality checks—including CT scans of flexible circuits and laser-precision mounting—guarantee reliability for the discerning user.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform
Under the hood, the Z TriFold packs a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, powering a 200MP main camera with Adaptive Pixel sensor for 2x optical-quality zoom and pro-level photo editing via Galaxy AI’s Generative Edit and Sketch to Image tools. A robust 5,600mAh three-cell battery (nominal 5,437mAh) distributed across panels delivers all-day endurance, juiced up by 45W wired fast charging compatible with QC2.0 and AFC standards. But it’s the AI smarts that elevate it to high-end status: Gemini Live offers multimodal interactions for real-time insights via screen or camera sharing, while Browsing Assist in Samsung Internet provides instant summaries and translations. For creators and professionals, standalone Samsung DeX turns the device into a desktop rig—supporting up to four workspaces with five apps each, Bluetooth peripherals, and Extended Mode for external monitors—making it ideal for on-the-go editing, document reviews, or even side-by-side YouTube binges with comments unfurling across the seamless display.
The Galaxy Z TriFold solves one of the longest-standing challenges in the mobile industry: delivering the perfect balance of portability, premium performance, and productivity in one device, said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President, and Head of the Device eXperience Division at Samsung Electronics. It now pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in mobile work, creativity, and connectivity.
Optimized apps like My Files and Samsung Health adapt fluidly to the expansive canvas, enabling three apps in portrait multitasking or resizable windows for vertical document scrolling. The cover screen remains a vibrant Dynamic 2X AMOLED panel for quick glances, ensuring the Z TriFold feels intuitive whether folded or fully deployed.
Galaxy Z TriFold launch
Launching globally on December 5, 2025, starting in Korea and rolling out to markets including China, Taiwan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States (with no availability in the Benelux region), the Galaxy Z TriFold arrives at a pivotal moment for foldables. As consumers increasingly seek devices that blur the lines between phone, tablet, and laptop, Samsung’s tri-fold marvel—priced competitively in the premium segment (exact figures to be announced regionally)—stands poised to redefine high-end mobile experiences. For audiophiles, videophiles, and power users alike, the Z TriFold isn’t folding under pressure; it’s unfolding the future.
