Samsung has unveiled its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, the world’s largest video game trade fair. The Samsung Odyssey 2027 range spans four distinct models, each built around a different combination of screen size, resolution, refresh rate and curvature, giving competitive players and general gamers alike a wider set of choices than the 2026 Odyssey generation.
A Four-Model Samsung Odyssey 2027 Lineup for Every Kind of Gamer
The Samsung Odyssey 2027 lineup was presented for the first time during the Gamescom 2026 session “#PlaySamsung: The Next Era of Gaming Displays.” It consists of the Odyssey OLED G9 (model G95SJ), Odyssey OLED G8 (model G80SJ), Odyssey OLED G7 (model G75SJ) and Odyssey G6 (model G60H). All four QD-OLED models share a fifth-generation panel with Penta Tandem technology, which Samsung says is up to 1.3 times more efficient and up to twice as long-lasting as the previous generation, along with RGB Stripe subpixel technology for sharper text and reduced color fringing. Samsung is also expanding HDR10+ GAMING support to more than 20 titles in the first half of 2027, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, in partnership with Activision Blizzard.
Odyssey OLED G9: 49-Inch Ultrawide at 360Hz
The Odyssey OLED G9 is the flagship of the Samsung Odyssey 2027 range and is billed as the world’s first 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate. It combines a 5120 x 1440 resolution with a 0.03ms GtG response time and Dual Mode support, letting gamers switch to a 2560 x 720 Dual HD mode at up to 720Hz for maximum speed. At 4K resolution the panel reaches a peak brightness of 1,300 nits on a 3% window.
Odyssey OLED G8 and G7: 4K OLED in Two Formats
The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 pairs 4K UHD OLED image quality with Triple Mode support, letting players switch between UHD at 360Hz, QHD at 520Hz and FHD at 680Hz. It adds Glare Free technology, a coating Samsung says is 54% less reflective than conventional anti-glare film, along with VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600 and support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible. The Odyssey OLED G7 rounds out the Samsung Odyssey 2027 range with an entirely new category: the world’s first 42-inch curved 16:9 OLED gaming monitor, with a screen roughly 72% larger than the previous 32-inch model. Its 1000R curvature, 4K OLED panel and 165Hz refresh rate are aimed squarely at RPGs and open-world games that benefit from a large, cinematic field of view.
Odyssey G6: The World’s First 1100Hz Monitor
The 27-inch Odyssey G6 completes the Samsung Odyssey 2027 lineup, building on the model introduced at CES 2026 to become, according to Samsung, the world’s first gaming monitor with a 1100Hz refresh rate. Its Fast IPS panel offers a 1ms response time and Dual Mode support, letting competitive FPS players choose between sharper QHD detail at up to 600Hz or maximum 1100Hz speed in HD. The Odyssey G6 is scheduled to reach global markets in the second half of 2026, ahead of the rest of the lineup.
Pricing and Availability
Samsung says availability of the Samsung Odyssey 2027 models G9, G8 and G7 will vary by market, with launch dates and pricing to be announced closer to release. The Odyssey G6 is the exception, arriving globally in the second half of 2026. The 2027 lineup builds on Samsung’s position as the world’s number one gaming monitor brand for seven consecutive years, according to IDC’s Quarterly PC Monitor Tracker.
