German audio brand Loewe has introduced the Loewe Neo, a portable Bluetooth speaker built around a machined aluminum chassis and finished with a tunable ambient lighting strip. The Loewe Neo delivers 50 watts of power through dual passive bass radiators, positioning it as a design-led alternative to mainstream portable speakers from brands like JBL and Bang & Olufsen.
Machined aluminum and interchangeable grilles
The Loewe Neo’s exterior is dominated by an exposed aluminum chassis with a distinctive perforated grille pattern, finished in Alu Silver, Alu Black or a limited-edition Champagne colorway. Loewe has made the grilles interchangeable, along with other modular exterior components, letting owners swap the speaker’s look to match different interiors or moods. A detachable leather carry strap and a premium felt case ship in the box, reinforcing the sense that the Loewe Neo is meant to be displayed as much as carried.
That attention to materials carries through to the speaker’s acoustic engineering. Dual passive bass radiators extend low-frequency output without requiring a larger enclosure, a common approach among premium portable speakers that need to balance size against bass extension. Loewe says the chassis itself was engineered to act as part of the acoustic path, with the aluminum shell helping to dampen unwanted resonance rather than simply enclosing the drivers.

Ambient lighting and Auracast
Alongside its acoustic hardware, the Loewe Neo includes an integrated light strip that can be adjusted directly from the top-mounted controls or through Loewe’s companion app, which also offers three sound presets plus independent bass and treble adjustment. The app can save multiple lighting profiles, so owners can switch between a warm, dimmed glow for evening listening and a brighter setting for daytime use without digging through menus each time.
The Loewe Neo supports Auracast, letting it share audio wirelessly with other Auracast-compatible speakers for group listening, a feature that’s becoming increasingly common as more brands adopt the Bluetooth LE Audio standard. “For decades, Loewe has been synonymous with design, innovation and individuality,” said Aslan Khabliev, CEO of Loewe. “Neo implements that philosophy out into the world, combining exceptional acoustic power, intelligent lighting, and unprecedented customisation in one beautifully crafted product.”
Built for outdoor use
The Loewe Neo carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance and a battery rated for up to 12 hours of playback, making it suitable for poolside or outdoor listening despite its premium finish. Top-mounted controls cover power, bass and treble boosters, and a lighting toggle, keeping the most common adjustments accessible without opening the companion app. That combination of rugged certification and tactile physical controls sets the Loewe Neo apart from speakers that push every setting into an app, a deliberate choice Loewe says reflects its longstanding focus on usable, durable design.
The Loewe Neo arrives as the brand’s follow-up to its We. HEAR series developed with Kylian Mbappé, this time targeting a more design-focused buyer who wants a speaker that doubles as a piece of furniture. Loewe is positioning the Neo against established design-forward rivals such as the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1, betting that its interchangeable grilles and ambient lighting will appeal to buyers who change up their interiors more often than their speakers.
