The TAD Evolution Two has quietly become one of the more decorated floorstanders in its class, picking up a Stereo Sound Grand Prix and a multi-year Speaker Award in the Floorstanding Upper Class category without ever chasing headlines the way a flagship launch usually does. TAD-E2, to use its official model code, is a 2.5-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker that carries forward the beryllium-tweeter architecture TAD first proved on its critically acclaimed TAD-E1TX and TAD-ME1 models.
A Tweeter Borrowed From TAD’s Flagship Thinking
At the top end, the TAD Evolution Two uses a 25mm beryllium diaphragm tweeter, the same material signature that runs through TAD’s higher-end speaker systems. The diaphragm’s shape is calculated using TAD’s own HSDOM (Harmonized Synthetic Diaphragm Optimum Method) computer analysis, and it sits on a newly developed rigid cast-aluminium waveguide designed to control directivity and suppress unwanted resonance. TAD quotes a frequency response extending to 60 kHz, well beyond what most listeners can hear but a figure that speaks to how cleanly the tweeter behaves within the audible band.

Twin Woofers, One Bracing Structure
Lower down, the TAD Evolution Two pairs two 15.5cm woofers built around a newly developed MACC (Multi-layered Aramid Composite Cone) diaphragm with a delta bracing structure shared between both drivers. TAD’s engineering notes point to a long voice coil with a short magnetic gap and a double short-ring structure as the mechanism behind the speaker’s control over dynamic distortion, while a vibration-suppressing center cap and a damping-coated corrugated surround are aimed squarely at keeping the midrange clean under load. The cabinet itself uses TAD’s SILENT (Structurally Inert Laminated Enclosure Technology) construction, with sound-absorbing material suspended mid-air on internal braces rather than bonded directly to the panels.
Built for a Proper Floor Placement
TAD has not skimped on the physical foundation either: a 10mm solid-steel base plate reinforces the port structure, and three spikes plus a tip-resistant fourth point anchor the cabinet firmly to the floor. Bi-wiring is supported via the rear input terminals, consistent with the rest of TAD’s Evolution Series. At 32kg per unit and just over a metre tall, the TAD Evolution Two is a serious floor-standing commitment rather than a bookshelf speaker on stands.

A Quiet Favourite With Reviewers
The TAD Evolution Two has picked up a steady stream of recognition since its introduction, including a Stereo Sound Grand Prix in 2021, a Phileweb Silver Award in 2022, and repeat placement in the Floorstanding Upper Class category of the Speaker Award across 2020 to 2022. Independent reviewers in Poland, Germany, France, Italy and Portugal have continued to cover the TAD Evolution Two well beyond its launch window, several describing a sound with studio-monitor resolution but a noticeably sweeter top end than that description usually implies.
Pricing and availability
TAD Laboratories does not list a retail price for the TAD Evolution Two on its official site; pricing is set through TAD’s regional dealer network and varies by market and finish. Full specifications, awards history and dealer information are available on TAD’s official product page.
