The Silkland Ultra96 HDMI 2.2 cable is one of the first certified cables in the world built for the new HDMI 2.2 standard, which doubles maximum bandwidth from 48Gbps to 96Gbps. Silkland, previously the first brand on Amazon to ship a VESA-certified 80Gbps DisplayPort 2.1 cable, is again among the earliest to market with hardware for a freshly ratified connectivity standard.
What HDMI 2.2 and Ultra96 Actually Change
HDMI 2.2 is built on next-generation Fixed Rate Link technology, pushing maximum bandwidth to 96Gbps, double that of Ultra High Speed HDMI (48Gbps) cables used for HDMI 2.1. In practice, that headroom enables uncompressed 4K at up to 240Hz with full 4:4:4 chroma, higher 10-bit and 12-bit colour depth, and room to grow into formats like 8K@240Hz through compression and advanced chroma sampling. The standard also introduces Ultra96 as a new cable category, with clearly defined bandwidth tiers of 64, 80 and 96Gbps, replacing the single Ultra High Speed designation used under HDMI 2.1.
A second addition, the Latency Indication Protocol, lets HDMI 2.2 devices coordinate audio and video delays at the source rather than relying on traditional delay compensation, which should mean noticeably tighter sync across multi-device setups involving a TV, AV receiver and soundbar.

Certified, Not Just Rated
Every Silkland HDMI 2.2 cable is tested and certified under the official HDMI Ultra Cable Certification Program, with anti-counterfeiting labels and a QR code per length that links to a verification page on hdmi.org. That certification covers the full feature set carried over from HDMI 2.1, including Variable Refresh Rate, Auto Low Latency Mode, Quick Frame Transport, Quick Media Switching, Dynamic HDR and eARC, alongside the new Latency Indication Protocol.
The cable is designed to support the full 96Gbps ceiling rather than one of the lower Ultra96 tiers, which Silkland positions as headroom for gaming monitors, high-end home theatre receivers and professional AV installations that are only just beginning to need this kind of bandwidth. Projectors and TVs built around next-generation processing, such as the recently announced Hisense PX4 Pro, are exactly the kind of source and display pairing that stands to benefit as HDMI 2.2 hardware becomes more common.
Pricing and availability
The Silkland Ultra96 HDMI 2.2 cable is priced at $31.99 and is available now in 1m, 1.5m, 2m and 3m lengths through silklandtech.com, with additional lengths to follow. According to Silkland, 2m and 3m orders began shipping the week of October 8, with 1m and 1.5m orders following in mid-October, both in the order they were received.
