Bang & Olufsen has unveiled a new limited-edition collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Tokyo-based studio, Fragment Design. The partnership reinterprets four of the Danish brand’s most iconic audio products through Fragment’s signature restrained, monochrome aesthetic.
The collection blends Bang & Olufsen’s precision engineering and premium materials with Fragment’s distinctive black design language, resulting in a refined, understated tribute to enduring design and craftsmanship.
Beosound A1 – Portable speaker in high-gloss black
The iconic portable Beosound A1 receives a sophisticated makeover with a new liquid-like, high-gloss black finish achieved through a specialised artisanal anodization and hand-polishing process. Fragment’s double lightning bolt motif is subtly integrated beneath the grille, maintaining the speaker’s compact elegance while adding a contemporary edge.
Beoplay H100 – Over-ear headphones with Fragment signature
The flagship Beoplay H100 headphones feature Fragment’s logo on the left ear cup, complemented by high-gloss aluminium accents. The collaboration emphasises the headphones’ luxurious comfort and premium sound while introducing a bold yet minimalist black aesthetic that reflects Fujiwara’s signature style.
Beosound Shape – Artistic wall-mounted speaker system
The architectural Beosound Shape is presented as a curated configuration of seven tiles in a subtle flower-inspired arrangement. Combining black and grey fabric with aluminium details and a Fragment logo tag, this installation piece transforms the modular speaker system into a striking wall sculpture that merges sound and art.
Beosystem 9000c – Timeless hi-fi system in dual-finish design
The ultimate statement piece is the made-to-order Beosystem 9000c, reimagined with matte black surfaces paired with glossy natural aluminium. Both Bang & Olufsen and Fragment marks are integrated on the CD clamper and speaker stands. Paired with Beolab 28 loudspeakers and a Beoremote One, this system pays homage to Bang & Olufsen’s heritage while embracing modern minimalism.
This collaboration has been a long-time dream of mine, said Hiroshi Fujiwara, Founder of Fragment Design. Since building my home around Bang & Olufsen’s integrated home sound system in the 1990s, the brand has been my first choice for audio. This feels like a meaningful continuation of our journey together.
