Audio-Technica has added two new colours to the Sound Burger AT-SB727, its Bluetooth-equipped portable turntable, with Green and Blue joining the existing Black, White and Yellow finishes. The Audio-Technica Sound Burger green and blue versions are exclusive to Europe and go on sale today, giving fans of the compact player a fresh choice of finishes without any change to the hardware underneath.
Two new finishes, same proven hardware
The Green and Blue Sound Burger models carry over every feature of the existing range: a belt-drive mechanism powered by a DC servo motor, a die-cast aluminium platter with damping, and support for both 33⅓ and 45 RPM records via a tonearm that uses a dynamic balance system, with stylus pressure applied through a spring rather than added weight. A 45 RPM adapter is included for singles, alongside a 3.5mm-to-RCA audio cable and a USB Type-A to USB-C charging cable.
Built-in phono preamp and Bluetooth playback
The Sound Burger ships with a VM-type cartridge and a replaceable ATN3600LC stylus, feeding into a built-in phono preamp rated at 36dB gain with RIAA equalisation, so it can connect directly to a pair of active speakers or an amplifier’s line input without a separate phono stage. For wireless listening, Bluetooth 5.2 covers a line-of-sight range of roughly 10 metres using the SBC codec; there is no aptX or AAC support, so Bluetooth playback quality depends on the SBC implementation on the receiving speaker or headphones.
Battery life and portability
A built-in lithium-ion battery charges via USB-C and is rated for approximately 12 hours of either charging or continuous operating time, letting the Sound Burger move freely between rooms or travel to a friend’s place without a power cable in tow. At 100 x 290 x 70mm and roughly 900 grams, the player keeps the same compact, briefcase-style footprint across all five colours, with the record extending beyond the body of the unit as it spins, true to the model’s original 1980s design.
Optional accessories
Audio-Technica also sells a dedicated AT-SBC1 storage case for the Sound Burger, designed to protect it from scratches and dust while doubling as a charging solution on the go, alongside the AT6028 record-cleaning tool with its own record-cover stand. Both are sold separately from the turntable itself.
Pricing and availability
The Audio-Technica Sound Burger in Green and Blue is available in Europe from today, 15 October 2026, priced at £199 / €249, matching the pricing of the existing colour options. The AT-SBC1 storage case is listed at €39, and the ATN3600LC replacement stylus at €19.
