Rega Replay Turntable Brings Plug-and-Play Vinyl to an Accessible Price

A new RB110 tonearm, factory-fitted Rega Carbon cartridge, and under-a-minute setup define Rega's new entry-level deck

The Rega Replay turntable

Rega has introduced the Replay, a new entry-level turntable the British brand describes as the perfect introduction to genuine high-fidelity vinyl playback. Built over three years of development, the Rega Replay is handmade in the UK like the rest of Rega’s lineup, designed to be set up and ready to play in under a minute, and backed by the brand’s lifetime warranty.

The Rega Replay’s Plug-and-Play Design

Rega built the Replay around removing the usual friction points of turntable setup: there is no tricky arm balancing and no uncertainty about whether everything is configured correctly. Owners simply unbox the Rega Replay, push the supplied 111g balance weight onto the rear of the tonearm, connect the tonearm leads to an amplifier or phono stage, remove the stylus guard, and start playing records. Rega says the whole process takes under a minute from box to first record.

The RB110 Tonearm and Rega Carbon Cartridge

The Rega Replay uses the latest generation of Rega’s RB110 tonearm, built with the brand’s patented, bespoke ultra-low-friction bearings and a factory pre-set, non-adjustable bias setting that removes another step from setup. The ergonomically redesigned RB110 headshell comes fitted with a Rega Carbon moving magnet cartridge, with a replaceable stylus, individually fitted and aligned at the factory for optimum performance straight out of the box.

Skeletal Plinth, Brass Bearing and a New Motor Module

The Rega Replay’s high-rigidity, laminated skeletal plinth uses a low-mass design with a black MDF core, paired with a performance brass main bearing (patent pending) that Rega says improves fit and reduces stress on the bearing while minimising energy transfer. A 23mm phenolic platter with improved flywheel effect aids speed stability, finished with a custom two-sided mat for grip. Power comes from a bespoke 24V synchronous AC motor module with a new PCB, a CNC-machined aluminium pulley, and built-in ventilation.

Pricing and Availability

Rega has not published retail pricing for the Replay on its own site; interested buyers can find current pricing and availability through Rega’s dealer and distributor network. The Rega Replay ships with a Rega PS2 power supply and is covered by the brand’s lifetime limited warranty against manufacturing defects.

Key Specifications

  • Tonearm: hand-assembled RB110 with 111g balance weight
  • Cartridge: Rega Carbon moving magnet, factory fitted and aligned, replaceable stylus
  • Bearing: factory-sealed precision main bearing, brass housing (patent pending)
  • Speeds: 33 1/3 and 45 RPM, manual selection via drive belt
  • Motor: 24V low-noise synchronous motor
  • Dimensions (with lid): 115 x 415 x 320mm; weight: 2.2kg
  • Power supply: Rega PS2, 100mA

With the Replay, Rega is targeting listeners taking their first step into dedicated vinyl playback, pairing the brand’s half-century of tonearm and bearing engineering with a setup process simple enough to have music playing within minutes of opening the box, in the same entry-level category as turntables like the Andover-One DD.

Publisher

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
