Samsung has expanded the Galaxy wrist lineup with the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, two smartwatches the company pitches as a wellness coach on the wrist. Both run on Wear OS 7 with One UI 9 Watch and share a new Qualcomm SDW6100 Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, but they target different users: the Ultra2 pushes rugged, feature-dense performance, while the Watch9 keeps things lighter and more affordable.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2: brighter, thinner, tougher
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 gets a 1.52-inch Super AMOLED display Samsung calls the brightest smartwatch screen yet, at up to 5,000 nits under Sapphire Crystal glass. The titanium case is 12 percent thinner than its predecessor despite an 800mAh battery, a 35 percent capacity increase, and the watch is rated 10ATM, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H for durability. New this generation is a dive-tracking app co-developed with Mares, exclusive to the Ultra2 for two years on Wear OS.

Galaxy Watch9: the everyday wellness tracker
The Galaxy Watch9 comes in 40mm and 44mm aluminium cases with displays up to 1.47 inches and 3,000 nits of brightness. It carries the same BioActive sensor platform as the Ultra2, adding Trail Run altitude and climb tracking, Nutrition Alerts for hydration guidance, FDA-cleared Sleep Apnea detection and overnight Vitals monitoring. Samsung frames both watches around a Heart Health Score and Daily Cardio Load metric designed to translate raw sensor data into daily, actionable advice.
Part of a wider Galaxy AI ecosystem
TM Roh, CEO and Head of the Device eXperience Division at Samsung Electronics, said the ecosystem behind the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9 is designed to connect everyday devices into one connected wellness ecosystem, with the watches acting as a vigilant companion that turns daily vitals into timely alerts. Both watches pair with the new Galaxy Z Series phones and support LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi and dual-frequency GPS.
