At the heart of the AV 30 lies a powerful dual-core SHARC DSP chipset from Analog Devices, paired with high-quality 32-bit DACs. This advanced platform accurately decodes and processes virtually any digital audio signal, supporting high-resolution stereo as well as cutting-edge immersive formats including Dolby Atmos™, IMAX Enhanced™, DTS:X™, and AURO-3D™.
Room optimization comes via included Audyssey MultEQ XT32, which uses the supplied microphone to automatically calibrate for speaker size, distances, and levels. For even greater precision, the AV 30 supports optional Dirac Live calibration, including Dirac Bass Control and Dirac Active Room Treatment (ART), enabling fully optimized performance with multiple subwoofers (up to four independently controllable) and complex multi-speaker layouts.
Connectivity is comprehensive and future-proof: seven HDMI inputs support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video passthrough, with three HDMI outputs. The preamplifier section delivers 11.4 channels via balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA outputs, utilizing discrete Marantz HDAM SA-2 modules for pure, low-noise signal paths. The slim-profile AMP 30 is a 6-channel Class D power amplifier delivering 200 watts per channel (8 ohms, 20Hz–20kHz, THD 0.05%, two channels driven). For added flexibility, pairs of channels can be bridged in BTL (bridged-tied-load) mode to produce up to three 400-watt channels, or configured for bi-amping.
Inputs include both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, ensuring compatibility across systems. The AMP 30 serves as an ideal match for the AV 30 but also excels as a performance upgrade—boosting front and center channels in a CINEMA 30 AVR-based setup—or as a complement to AV 10 or AV 20 processors. Users can combine it with the 12-channel AMP 20 or 16-channel AMP 10 for massive power reserves in expansive home theaters.
