Luxman is closing out its 100th-anniversary product line with its most muscular release yet: the Luxman B-100 Centennial, a monaural power amplifier that revives the brand’s B-1000f monoblock format for the first time since that model marked Luxman’s 80th anniversary in 2005. Sold individually and used in mono pairs, the B-100 Centennial is built to drive even the most demanding loudspeaker loads with authority.
A 4×4 Output Stage and 1,000 Watts on Tap
At the heart of the Luxman B-100 Centennial is LIFES 1.1, the latest version of Luxman’s proprietary amplification feedback engine, paired with a newly developed “4×4” output configuration: four triple-stage Darlington push-pull modules arranged in quad-parallel per channel. The amplifier runs in pure Class A up to 25W into 8 ohms, moves into Class AB for 125W into 8 ohms and 250W into 4 ohms, and can deliver a short-term burst of up to 1,000W into a 1-ohm load, giving it the headroom to control difficult, low-impedance speakers without strain.
Behind that output stage sits a substantial power supply: a custom 1,250VA EI-core transformer with flat copper windings feeds sixteen 10,000uF filter capacitors for a total of 160,000uF of reservoir capacitance, and the whole chassis tips the scales at 61.5kg.
Centennial Design Cues
Visually, the Luxman B-100 Centennial follows the design language of its 100th-anniversary siblings, the D-100 Centennial CD player and P-100 Centennial headphone amplifier: a brushed-white front panel, an illuminated analog decibel meter, and a glossy chrome CENTENNIAL badge next to the Luxman signature logotype. The meter itself doubles as a design statement, glowing warmly as it tracks output level in real time, a visual signature of Luxman’s classic power amplifiers going back decades.
Built for the Long Haul
Every stage of the Luxman B-100 Centennial reflects the company’s sound-first engineering philosophy: peel-coat PCB technology on all input, output and amplifier-stage boards removes resistive coatings that can degrade sound quality, while newly developed low-noise relays tighten channel separation. Balanced and unbalanced inputs are both supported, and the amplifier was first shown publicly at AXPONA 2026 in Schaumburg, Illinois, ahead of its wider rollout as part of Luxman’s centennial celebrations.
Pricing and Availability
The Luxman B-100 Centennial launched in Japan in June 2026 at 2,750,000 yen per unit (tax included) in Brushed White finish, with European distribution priced at 52,990 EUR per pair and availability confirmed for September. As with the rest of Luxman’s centennial lineup, quantities are expected to be limited given the scale of the project.
