JBL has introduced JBL Cove, a whole-home Wi-Fi audio system designed to make multi-room music listening simple. The new range spans three wireless speakers that can run individually, as stereo pairs, or as part of a connected system controlled through the JBL One app. JBL Cove combines room-filling JBL sound, Dolby Atmos® support on select models and flexible room-by-room listening without forcing users to constantly regroup or reset speakers, and it gets its first in-person reveal for CEDIA Expo press this week.
Three Speakers Built for Every Room
The Cove line-up covers three distinct use cases. The Cove M1 is the compact model, built for effortless everyday listening in smaller rooms. The Cove P1 adds battery-powered portability with up to 14 hours of playback and an IP56 rating, so it can move from the living room to the patio without missing a beat. At the top sits the Cove X1, the flagship model with four tweeters and dual 4-inch woofers for room-filling, 3D sound. All three can be placed individually, paired in stereo, or grouped into a single whole-home system.
Constant Sound Field, AI Sound Boost and Effortless Setup
The system leans on three proprietary technologies to make placement forgiving: Constant Sound Field for balanced sound throughout a room, Automatic Self-Tuning that calibrates each speaker to its surroundings, and AI Sound Boost, which minimises distortion at higher volumes. Setup is designed to take three steps and no account creation, and the JBL One app lets listeners create or dissolve room groups on the fly — play music everywhere, or start streaming in a single room, without ungrouping or resetting anything. A dedicated Moment button also enables JBL’s “Music Follows Me” feature, moving a playlist or TV audio from room to room without touching a phone.
Dolby Atmos and Integration With JBL Bar Series Soundbars
Dolby Atmos support arrives on the Cove P1 and Cove X1, and both can also be added as rear surround channels to compatible JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars through the JBL One app, turning a simple music setup into a fuller home theatre system without buying dedicated rear speakers. Connectivity is broad across the range, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect all supported, alongside Alexa Built-In voice control and access to Amazon’s Alexa+ assistant.
A First Look at CEDIA Expo 2026
JBL is giving CEDIA Expo press a first in-person look at the Cove series in Meeting Room 207, alongside the rest of HARMAN’s Luxury Audio presence at the show. “JBL Cove marks an important step in our ambition to become a leading force in home audio, combining powerful JBL Legendary Sound with the simplicity, flexibility and outstanding value that will help even more people discover how simple it is to have great sound throughout the home,” said Carsten Olesen, President, Consumer Audio at HARMAN.

Cove speakers arrive in white and black at JBL.com from September 13, 2026: the M1 for $229.95, the P1 for $399.95 and the X1 for $449.95. The launch is part of a broader CEDIA Expo 2026 push from HARMAN Luxury Audio, which is marking milestone anniversaries for JBL and ARCAM at the same show.
