JBL has refreshed its budget-to-mid-range soundbar lineup with four new Cinema SB MK2 models, all built around a new SurroundPlay feature that turns a compatible JBL portable speaker into a pair of wireless rear surround channels. The JBL Cinema SB MK2 range spans the entry-level SB510MK2 up to the flagship SB595MK2, each pairing a dedicated center channel with Bluetooth and Auracast connectivity for what JBL calls affordable, immersive home cinema.
Four Models, One SurroundPlay Trick
SurroundPlay is the headline feature across the JBL Cinema SB MK2 range: point a compatible JBL portable speaker, currently the JBL Flip 7, at the soundbar and it wirelessly joins as a pair of rear surround channels, no separate rear speakers or cables required. Every model in the range also gets a dedicated center channel for dialogue clarity, a foldable U-shaped design that JBL says cuts packed volume by up to 20 percent, and wireless music streaming over Bluetooth and Auracast.
Specifications Across the JBL Cinema SB MK2 Range
The flagship SB595MK2 tops the range with 440W of power, a 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer, a 3.1.2-channel layout, and true Dolby Atmos with HDMI-IN and HDMI eARC. The SB580MK2 shares the same 440W output and 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer but drops to a 3.1-channel layout with standard Dolby Atmos. Stepping down, the SB550MK2 offers 360W with a 5.25-inch wireless subwoofer and Dolby Audio over HDMI ARC, while the entry-level SB510MK2 uses a built-in subwoofer, 200W of power, and Dolby Audio, and skips the foldable design of the other three models.
Built Around the JBL Speaker Ecosystem
By tying SurroundPlay to the JBL Flip 7, JBL is nudging Cinema SB MK2 owners toward a speaker they may already use elsewhere in the house, rather than asking them to buy dedicated rear satellites. Carsten Olesen, President of Consumer Audio at HARMAN, framed the range around accessibility: “Whatever your budget, you get clear dialogue, powerful bass and true cinematic sound…That’s what innovation should do.”

The JBL Cinema SB MK2 range becomes available in select markets from 1 October 2026, priced at €449.99 for the SB595MK2, €349.99 for the SB580MK2, €249.99 for the SB550MK2, and €199.99 for the entry-level SB510MK2. Full details are available in JBL’s official announcement.
