Swiss high-end manufacturer Goldmund has unveiled the Mimesis Statement, its new flagship analogue preamplifier. Unveiled at the firm’s Geneva headquarters, the Mimesis Statement sits at the top of Goldmund’s preamplifier range and is, according to the company, the result of extensive R&D investment, with nearly every component either proprietary to or newly developed by Goldmund.
The Mimesis Statement continues Goldmund’s hard-edged, minimalist design language, built as a three-box system that pairs a central amplifier chassis, with a cover-glass display and metal-coated front-panel controls, with two separate power supply boxes.

A First for Goldmund: Dual-Mono Power Supply
The Mimesis Statement is the first Goldmund preamplifier to use a dual-mono power supply, with one of its two external boxes dedicated entirely to the left channel and the other to the right. Goldmund COO Gaspar Baldunciel said every part of the power supply has been custom-designed in-house, with the explicit goal of minimising noise and interference between channels.
Separating Left and Right Down to the Board
Goldmund has also taken a different approach with the amplification section of the Mimesis Statement itself, working to isolate the left and right channels as thoroughly as possible within a single chassis. The company says the main circuit board handles only input and output selection, display and volume control, while all audio signal paths run through dedicated audio boards, separated by channel, each with its own power supply and physically separated by a custom heat-dissipation component.
Goldmund head of engineering Dr Mehran Erza said the approach is intended to reduce crosstalk and interference as much as possible, with circuitry the company describes as unique to this design. According to Goldmund, the result is a wide-bandwidth signal path of 0.2Hz to 1.5MHz (±3dB) with low distortion, and a sound the company describes as tuned to let the original recording “pass through with minimal alteration.”

Connectivity
The Mimesis Statement offers three balanced XLR and seven single-ended RCA line-level inputs, with three balanced XLR and three RCA outputs. Goldmund’s engineering team said the three-box dual-mono layout was chosen over a four-box alternative as a more elegant and less complicated solution for the end user, despite the added engineering complexity on Goldmund’s side.
Full technical documentation for the Mimesis Statement is available on Goldmund’s own product page, and the preamplifier joins the rest of Goldmund’s current range in our amplifier news coverage.
Pricing and availability
The Goldmund Mimesis Statement is priced at £220,000, positioning it above the brand’s existing Mimesis Reference preamplifier, which costs around £145,000. Goldmund recommends pairing the Statement with its Telos 9800 power amplifier, priced at £370,000 / €430,000 / $500,000. The Mimesis Statement is available to order now through Goldmund’s dealer network.
