Epson has refreshed its home cinema lineup with a new generation of Epson 4K laser projectors, adding AI-driven picture processing and smart home connectivity to a range that now spans four models. The launch covers everything from an entry-level living-room projector to a short-throw model aimed at compact spaces, all built around Epson’s 3LCD laser engine and images up to 500 inches.
Four Epson 4K Laser Projectors, One Platform
The lineup opens with the EH-LS5000, a 2,500-lumen model Epson positions as its affordable entry point among the new Epson 4K laser projectors, and the EH-LS6000, a brighter 3,400-lumen version for more demanding rooms. Above those sit two more Epson 4K laser projectors aimed at enthusiasts and professional installers: the EH-LS7000, a 3,600-lumen model built for premium media rooms, and the EH-LS7500, which Epson calls its first short-throw professional home 4K projector, enabling large-screen projection from compact spaces such as multi-purpose rooms or even indoor golf simulators. All four share a 5-year warranty and are designed to integrate with external audio systems rather than relying on built-in speakers.
AI Picture Processing and Smart Home Integration
Every one of the new Epson 4K laser projectors uses Epson AI imaging powered by MT9681 to adjust the picture in real time. AI Picture Quality (AI PQ Scene 2.0+) detects scene elements, including faces, and adjusts color, contrast and clarity accordingly, while intelligent upscaling sharpens lower-resolution sources and AI-driven contrast and motion processing aim to keep fast-moving content smooth with deeper blacks. Epson pairs that with an upgraded laser light engine using LD Boost Technology, which the company says raises brightness by up to 12% without adding fan noise, keeping operation in the 22-25 dB range.
The new projectors also add Matter support, letting them join smart home ecosystems such as Google Home, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant, with voice control available through compatible platforms. It is a similar direction to the one Epson took with the QL7000 shown at CEDIA Expo 2026, continuing the push to make laser projection feel more like a normal piece of connected home entertainment gear rather than a specialist installation.
Pricing and Availability
Epson has not published individual pricing for the EH-LS5000, EH-LS6000, EH-LS7000 or EH-LS7500 at launch; all four Epson 4K laser projectors will roll out across Europe from September 2026, with regional pricing expected to follow through Epson’s usual retail channels. The EH-LS7000 and EH-LS7500 add ISF-certified image optimization for professional calibration, underlining that those two models are aimed more squarely at custom installers and enthusiasts than the EH-LS5000 and EH-LS6000.
