Castle has completed its three-series British-made loudspeaker range with the launch of the Tintagel and Walmer series, four new standmount and floorstanding models designed, engineered and manufactured at the brand’s own facility in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Castle Tintagel Walmer speakers now sit alongside the existing Windsor series, giving the historic brand a full home-grown lineup for the first time since its return to UK manufacturing in 2023. The Castle Tintagel Walmer launch marks the brand’s most complete UK product offering to date.
The Castle Tintagel Series
Tintagel is positioned as the accessible entry point into Castle’s UK-made range. The two-way Tintagel 1 standmount uses a 130mm advanced fibre mid/bass driver paired with a 28mm silk-dome tweeter on a shallow waveguide, while the 2.5-way Tintagel 2 floorstander doubles up on that mid/bass driver for greater scale and deeper bass extension. Both models are built around cast alloy driver chassis, bitumen damping panels, internal bracing and long-fibre wool absorption, with the standmount venting through a rear bass reflex port and the floorstander porting downward through its plinth.
The Castle Walmer Series
Sitting above Tintagel, Walmer introduces woven carbon fibre drive units and a true ribbon treble system. The two-way Walmer 1 standmount pairs a 130mm woven carbon fibre mid/bass driver with a 12x45mm ribbon tweeter, while the three-way Walmer 2 floorstander adds twin 150mm carbon fibre bass drivers and a dedicated 115mm carbon fibre midrange unit housed in its own internal enclosure. Walmer 2 also uses a Mass Loaded Transmission Line, described by Castle as an evolution of its quarter-wave technology, exiting into an air volume formed by the plinth for bass extension down to 32Hz at -6dB.
Castle Tintagel Walmer: A Complete British-Made Range
With Tintagel and Walmer now joining the existing Windsor Earl and Windsor Duke, the Castle Tintagel Walmer launch completes a three-series range built entirely in the UK, from design and development through to final cabinet finishing. All four new loudspeakers are available in walnut or black oak real-wood veneer, continuing the brand’s tradition of hand-finished cabinetry. Across the Castle Tintagel Walmer range, every model shares the same construction standards: cast alloy chassis, low-loss crossover components including polypropylene capacitors and air-core coils, and real-wood veneers rather than vinyl wraps.
Pricing and Availability
The Castle Tintagel 1 carries a UK RRP of £1,999 per pair (€2,499 / $2,749), with the larger Tintagel 2 priced at £2,999 (€3,749 / $3,999). The Walmer 1 standmount is priced at £2,499 per pair (€2,999 / $3,499), while the range-topping Walmer 2 floorstander comes in at £4,999 (€6,249 / $7,499). All four models become available from September 2026 through Castle’s dealer network.
