CANVAS HiFi Launches CANVAS L, a Bigger Audiophile Soundbar

CANVAS HiFi debuts a larger version of its audiophile soundbar, built for bigger screens and more powerful sound

The CANVAS L soundbar is Danish hi-fi brand CANVAS HiFi’s larger, more powerful take on its audiophile soundbar concept, first shown at High End Vienna 2026. CANVAS already claimed the title of the world’s first audiophile soundbar; with the CANVAS L soundbar, the company scales that same concept up for bigger rooms and bigger screens, while keeping the single-unit, cable-free installation that defines the line.

CANVAS L: A Bigger Take on the Audiophile Soundbar

According to CANVAS HiFi, the core idea behind CANVAS L is unchanged from the original CANVAS: genuine hi-fi sound without filling the living room with separate speakers, external subwoofers, or visible cabling. CANVAS L adds more power and a larger scale to that formula, with the company describing a more immersive sound experience aimed at listeners who want a single soundbar to replace a full component system. The magnetic front panels, a signature CANVAS design touch, can still be swapped to match different interiors, so the soundbar’s appearance can be changed without altering the electronics underneath.

Built for Bigger Screens

CANVAS L is designed to support television sizes from 65 to 115 inches, positioning it for the large-format displays that have become common in high-end living rooms. That is a meaningful step up from the size range the original CANVAS models were built around, and it signals that CANVAS HiFi wants the CANVAS L soundbar to work as the sole audio solution in front-room and home-cinema setups, not just smaller secondary rooms.

CANVAS HiFi’s product range already includes several other CANVAS soundbar sizes tied to specific screen dimensions, and CANVAS L extends that same screen-matched logic to the top of the lineup. The company frames CANVAS L as sitting alongside category peers such as Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound Premiere Soundbar, another single-unit system built around the idea that a soundbar can be a genuine hi-fi component rather than a home-theater afterthought.

The CANVAS L soundbar relies on the same core technologies as the standard CANVAS model: proprietary Room Correction and BACCH 3D crosstalk cancellation, which CANVAS uses to build a wide stereo image from drivers mounted in a single cabinet rather than from separate left and right speakers. That approach is central to how the CANVAS L soundbar can claim hi-fi-grade performance without a conventional multi-speaker layout, cutting down on both the equipment and the cabling a comparable component system would need. For a living room built around a large-screen TV, the CANVAS L soundbar is pitched as a way to get that scale of sound without a rack of separate boxes.

The CANVAS design lets the TV sit directly on top of the soundbar cabinet, so the pair reads as a single unit rather than a separate TV and speaker.

Pricing and availability

CANVAS HiFi has not yet published pricing or a release date for CANVAS L following its High End Vienna 2026 debut; the announcement functions as a launch reveal ahead of wider availability. Existing CANVAS soundbar sizes are sold directly through canvashifi.com, where CANVAS L is expected to be listed once it moves from launch to retail.

Key specifications

  • CANVAS L: larger version of the CANVAS audiophile soundbar, launched at High End Vienna 2026
  • Supports TVs from 65″ to 115″
  • Interchangeable magnetic front panels for different interior finishes
  • Single-unit, cable-free hi-fi sound system, no separate speakers required
  • Part of the CANVAS HiFi range, built on Room Correction and BACCH 3D crosstalk cancellation technology

CANVAS HiFi’s CEO Laust Nielsen introduced CANVAS L directly at High End Vienna, framing the launch as the next step for a soundbar category the company argues it created. Whether CANVAS L reaches the same review acclaim as the original CANVAS remains to be seen once pricing and shipping dates are confirmed, but the pitch is clear: bigger screens deserve a bigger version of the same single-box hi-fi concept.

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
