Beyerdynamic has announced its role as exclusive headphone partner for Infinity Studio, a recording studio under construction at 2,600 metres on the Schwarzkogel above Sölden, Austria. Built in partnership with Wilderness Studios, the Beyerdynamic Infinity Studio project is billed as Europe’s highest-altitude recording studio, and is scheduled to open in December 2026.
The Beyerdynamic Infinity Studio sits on the Schwarzkogel, a 3,016-metre peak in the heart of the Ötztal Alps near Sölden. As part of a three-year partnership, beyerdynamic is helping bring the project to life alongside Wilderness Studios, with the goal of becoming “a creative space where artists, producers and songwriters from around the world come together,” according to the companies. Full project details and ongoing updates are published on the official Infinity Studio website.

Inside the Beyerdynamic Infinity Studio
The facility is designed as a modular, two-storey structure with seven rooms, built to withstand the altitude and climate of its mountaintop setting. A 150-square-metre roof terrace will accommodate up to 100 guests, while the working spaces inside are designed for up to 15 people collaborating at once. The architecture adapts to the mountain rather than the other way around, with glass-walled volumes that open onto panoramic views of the surrounding Ötztal peaks, including a moon-facing window positioned to frame the night sky above the valley.

As exclusive headphone partner, beyerdynamic is equipping the Beyerdynamic Infinity Studio with its DT-series studio headphones throughout the facility’s recording and mixing spaces, the same monitoring line the brand recently extended with the DT 275 PRO. The partnership also extends to a custom-designed gaming lounge fitted with beyerdynamic gaming headsets, broadening the studio’s use beyond music production alone and giving visiting artists a place to unwind between sessions.
A Three-Year Partnership
“Building a professional recording studio at this altitude requires architecture that adapts to the mountain,” beyerdynamic said of the project. Andreas Rapp, Managing Director of beyerdynamic, and Felix Brunhuber and Florian Fellier of Wilderness Studios, both point to the location itself, 2,600 metres up the Schwarzkogel, as central to what the Beyerdynamic Infinity Studio is meant to offer: a creative environment removed from the routine of a conventional studio.
Beyerdynamic and Wilderness Studios plan to share regular project updates and behind-the-scenes insights as construction progresses toward the Beyerdynamic Infinity Studio’s December 2026 opening, with recaps of activations planned once the space is in use. The companies describe the collaboration as a long-term platform rather than a one-off build, with beyerdynamic positioning its involvement as part of a broader push into professional and content-creator audio alongside its existing studio and broadcast headphone ranges.

Why an alpine location
Wilderness Studios, beyerdynamic’s partner on the build, has built a reputation for placing recording spaces in unconventional settings removed from traditional music-industry hubs. The company argues that distance from a city’s usual studio routine changes how artists work together.
The Beyerdynamic Infinity Studio extends that approach to its most extreme setting yet, trading easy access for a location that cannot be replicated at sea level: a working studio perched above the Ötztal valley, reachable only via the Sölden ski lift infrastructure that already serves the resort town below. For beyerdynamic, the altitude also functions as a proving ground, since professional headphones and monitoring gear are expected to perform consistently at low temperatures and reduced air pressure — conditions the Infinity Studio build will put to a real-world test well before the first artists check in.

The Beyerdynamic Infinity Studio is scheduled to open in December 2026. Pricing for studio bookings and access has not yet been announced; updates will be published at infinity-studio.at and beyerdynamic.com/infinity-studio.
