Pro-Ject Signal Orange is the name of a vivid new finish that Pro-Ject has added to its Debut EVO 2 turntable and matching Speaker Box 5 S2 loudspeakers, giving two familiar European-made hi-fi components a bold, modern look without changing the engineering underneath. Pro-Ject Signal Orange is available now on the individual components, and from November it will also be offered as part of the complete Colourful Audio System 2 bundle.
Pro-Ject Signal Orange: a vivid new finish for two components
At the heart of the Debut EVO 2 finished in Pro-Ject Signal Orange is an 8.6-inch, one-piece carbon-fibre tonearm, a Pick it MM EVO moving-magnet cartridge and a 1.7kg cast-aluminium platter damped with thermoplastic elastomer. Electronic speed selection covers 33.3 and 45rpm, while three adjustable feet help with levelling and isolation. StereoNET’s review of the standard Debut EVO 2 praised the deck’s rock-steady speed, low background noise and unusually capable tonearm, concluding that it offers outstanding value for anyone seeking a straightforward, affordable vinyl source.
The matching Speaker Box 5 S2, also finished in Pro-Ject Signal Orange, is a compact two-way bass-reflex design, pairing a 25mm silk-dome tweeter with a 130mm fibreglass mid/bass driver. The cabinets are handmade in Europe and finished to match the turntable.
Joining the Colourful Audio System 2 in November
From November, Pro-Ject Signal Orange will also join the palette for the Colourful Audio System 2, the brand’s ready-matched package that partners the Debut EVO 2 and Speaker Box 5 S2 with its compact, black MaiA S3 integrated amplifier, plus terminated speaker cables and isolation feet. The MaiA S3 caters for both analogue and digital sources, with a built-in phono stage and Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD, making the package more flexible than its vinyl-first appearance suggests. Crucially, it remains a separates system, so owners can upgrade individual components rather than replace the entire setup.
Part of a wider colour palette
Pro-Ject Signal Orange expands the Colourful Audio System 2’s satin colour selection to eight, alongside a walnut option. The shade taps into a wider revival of orange in interiors and industrial design, adding impact to a system conceived from the start as an alternative to anonymous black-box audio.
