Pro-Ject E1.2 BT: 1 Essential Wireless Turntable Upgrade

Pro-Ject Audio Systems is giving its entry-level E-Line turntable a wireless upgrade. The Pro-Ject E1.2 BT adds a built-in Bluetooth 5.4 transmitter with aptX HD support to the brand’s plug-and-play E1.2 platform, letting owners stream vinyl straight to Bluetooth speakers, headphones, or amplifiers without a single cable. Priced at 399 euros in the Netherlands, the Pro-Ject E1.2 BT sits alongside the standard E1.2 and the phono-equipped E1.2 Phono as the third variant in the refreshed E-Line, and it is handmade in the Czech Republic like the rest of the range.

Built for a Stable, Resonance-Free Platform

At the heart of the Pro-Ject E1.2 BT is a 730-gram damped aluminium die-cast platter, reworked and precision-balanced in an extra manufacturing step to keep rotation even. The platter sits on a CNC-machined chassis with no hollow spaces, a construction Pro-Ject says leaves no room for unwanted resonances or vibrations, while a stainless steel axle and ball running in a bronze bushing keep the main bearing smooth and quiet. A glass-fibre reinforced ABS sub platter, damped feet that decouple the turntable from its surface, and an acrylic dust cover round out the package.

Plug-and-Play Tonearm and Cartridge

The tonearm is a CNC-machined aluminium design in a high-mass gimbal configuration, fitted with a precision pinpoint bearing and an oversized counterweight placed close to the moving parts for better balance and bass response. Pro-Ject pre-adjusts tracking force and anti-skating at the factory, so the Pro-Ject E1.2 BT is ready to play as soon as it is out of the box, no tools or setup guesswork required. A Pick it MM E cartridge comes pre-mounted, using a low-mass moving-magnet system built around a miniature neodymium generator magnet and a conical diamond tip, which Pro-Ject positions as a warm, smooth-sounding match for the rest of the deck.

Onboard Bluetooth 5.4 With aptX HD

Where the Pro-Ject E1.2 BT breaks from the standard E1.2 is the addition of onboard Bluetooth. The 5.4 transmitter with aptX HD keeps latency low and bitrate high compared with standard SBC Bluetooth, an important distinction for anyone pairing the turntable with wireless headphones or a soundbar rather than a wired amplifier. It is a meaningful step up from the entry-level E1 BT, which uses an older Bluetooth generation without aptX HD, and it positions the Pro-Ject E1.2 BT as the wireless option for buyers who want the improved platter, tonearm, and cartridge of the E1.2 generation without giving up cable-free convenience. Pro-Ject also offers special satin, hand-painted finishes on a heavier MDF chassis for the BT Colour edition, designed to match the brand’s wider Colourful Audio speaker line, alongside the standard foil finishes in black, white, and wood.

The Pro-Ject E1.2 BT is priced at 399 euros in the Netherlands and is available now in black, white, and wood foil finishes, with satin BT Colour finishes offered as an upgrade.
