Buying a refurbished flagship phone has always meant a trade-off between price and peace of mind. Samsung is closing that gap a little further: starting this week, Samsung Certified Re-Newed Galaxy smartphones are available to shop directly on Amazon.com, marking the first time Samsung’s own refurbishment program has sold through a third-party retailer in the US.
What Samsung Certified Re-Newed actually means
The label isn’t just a sticker. Every Samsung Certified Re-Newed device is serviced by Samsung specialists and repaired using 100% genuine Samsung parts, including a certified new battery, before it ever reaches a customer. Each unit must also clear 147 individual quality checkpoints to earn the Certified Re-Newed designation. Devices ship in packaging made from 100% recyclable material, along with a quick start guide, data cable and SIM ejector pin, the same presentation buyers would expect from a brand-new retail box. Full listings are available directly through Amazon.com.

Fourteen configurations, two generations
Amazon’s listing spans both the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 families. Options include the Galaxy S24 FE in 128GB and 256GB, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ across multiple storage tiers, the Galaxy S24 Ultra in 256GB and 512GB, and the full S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra range in matching capacities. Every listed phone is backed by a one-year limited manufacturer warranty, and buyers can additionally enroll in Samsung Care+ for coverage against drops, spills and mechanical breakdowns, including same-day screen repair in select areas.

Pricing starts at $489 before taxes and fees for the entry-level configuration, with the higher-capacity Galaxy S25 Ultra models priced well above that depending on storage. It’s a meaningful discount against current retail pricing for the same hardware new, and for shoppers who have grown used to buying everything through Amazon, it removes the extra step of navigating Samsung’s own refurbished storefront. The flagship at the top of that range, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, remains full price for now, but today’s move signals how quickly Samsung is willing to fold a previous generation into its refurbished channel once a new one ships.

Why it matters
Samsung has been expanding Certified Re-Newed steadily since launching it with the Galaxy S22 series, later adding the UK, France and Germany, and most recently folding in the Galaxy S26 series. Selling through Amazon is a different kind of expansion: it puts Samsung’s own refurbished stock in front of shoppers who were never going to seek out a dedicated refurb storefront in the first place, competing directly with the many third-party Amazon Renewed listings that already carry Galaxy devices under shorter, less rigorous guarantees.
Not every model or color is available through Amazon, and Samsung has not published per-configuration pricing, so the final cost for a specific Galaxy S24 Ultra or S25 Ultra variant will depend on what’s in stock at checkout at the time of purchase. For buyers comfortable with a refurbished device, though, a Samsung-backed warranty and a known repair standard, now available in the same checkout flow as everything else on Amazon, is a meaningfully easier sell than before. It also puts Samsung’s refurbished program in direct, side-by-side comparison with ordinary Amazon Renewed listings on the same product pages, which should make the difference in warranty terms and repair quality much easier for shoppers to weigh before they decide to buy a Samsung Certified Re-Newed device rather than a third-party renewed listing.
