Apple has introduced the new Apple TV 4K (4th generation), a refreshed set-top box built around Siri AI — an entirely new, full-screen version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence that transforms how viewers search for and discover movies and shows. Alongside the smarter assistant, the Apple TV 4K gains a faster A19 chip, three built-in far-field microphones for hands-free control, and the ability to create a four-speaker HomePod surround sound setup for the first time. Pre-orders open today, with availability beginning November 13.
Siri AI Takes Over the Living Room
Siri AI brings a rich, full-screen experience to the Apple TV, with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and the ability to take systemwide app actions. Viewers can simply ask things like “What Apple TV shows won at the Emmy Awards this year?” and see poster art pulled directly from the Apple TV app, or ask follow-up questions such as “Where was Pluribus filmed?” without leaving the show they’re watching. With an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone nearby, Siri AI can even tap into personal context to handle requests like “Play the show Alinda recommended.”

Hands-Free Control With Far-Field Microphones
Three far-field microphones, combined with advanced echo cancellation, let users control playback and discover new shows completely hands-free, even while audio is already playing. Apple TV 4K and its A19 chip also include Secure Exclaves, compartmentalized runtimes that process microphone data separately from the rest of the system so that audio can never be accessed by tvOS, apps, the user, or Apple itself.
Faster Performance for the New Apple TV 4K
The A19 chip delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than the previous generation, along with a new dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient, high-quality 4K streaming. The familiar Siri Remote also gets smarter, adding Find My support with Precision Finding and an option to play a sound, making a missing remote far easier to track down.

A Smarter Home Hub
For the first time, Apple TV 4K (4th generation) can team up with four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) speakers to create a four-speaker surround sound setup, automatically calibrated to the room. As a smart home hub, Apple TV 4K also gains Apple Intelligence-generated camera activity descriptions and summarized notifications in the Home app, alongside automations, guest mode, and secure local processing of HomeKit Secure Video — all building on the home theater know-how Apple already applies to Apple TV’s Dolby Atmos Formula 1 coverage.
