Neumann Sharpens the KH 310 II and Introduces the KH 350

Two 3-way reference monitors on a shared DSP platform - one sealed for precision, one bass-reflex for scale

The KH 310 II and KH 350 monitor a professional control room, flanking the mix engineer’s console.

Neumann has expanded its three-way studio monitor portfolio with two new models built on a shared 32-bit DSP platform. The Neumann KH 310 II carries forward one of professional audio’s most trusted nearfield references, while the all-new KH 350 adds a larger, bass-reflex option for midfield and immersive rooms. Both monitors share the same 3-inch soft-dome midrange driver, 8.25-inch woofer and 585 W of amplification, and both support Neumann’s MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment for room-optimized playback. Together, Neumann says, they complete the KH family, from compact nearfield solutions to full-range reference monitoring.

Neumann KH 310 II: The Reference, Refined

The original KH 310 earned its reputation for accuracy, exceptional midrange clarity and precise low-frequency reproduction, and the Neumann KH 310 II keeps that sealed-cabinet architecture largely untouched on the outside. Internally, nearly everything has changed. A newly developed woofer, a redesigned amplifier platform and Neumann’s DSP engine combine for lower distortion, improved linearity and a 5 dB increase in maximum SPL over its predecessor. Production tolerances are tight enough to hold ±0.6 dB linearity from 100 Hz to 10 kHz, and identical cabinet dimensions mean the KH 310 II drops straight into existing KH 310 installations, or alongside Neumann’s smaller KH 150 nearfield monitor, without any retrofit headaches.

The KH 310 II keeps the sealed-cabinet architecture of the original KH 310, now with a redesigned woofer and DSP platform.

KH 350: Full-Range Authority for Midfield Rooms

Where the KH 310 II sharpens an existing reference, the KH 350 is an entirely new model, sized for larger control rooms and immersive setups. Its cabinet is nearly twice the size of the KH 310 II, and its bass-reflex design extends low-frequency response down to 27 Hz (±6 dB) for noticeably deeper headroom. A large Mathematically Modeled Dispersion waveguide keeps directivity tightly controlled across the full frequency range, which Neumann says preserves stable imaging at listening distances up to 3 metres. Positioned between the KH 310 II and the flagship KH 420, the KH 350 is built for film scoring, broadcast and LCR/surround duty as much as music production.

The all-new KH 350 uses a bass-reflex cabinet nearly twice the size of the KH 310 II for deeper low-frequency extension.

Shared DSP Platform and MA 1 Room Correction

Both monitors run on the same 32-bit DSP engine and connect via analog XLR or digital AES3id (BNC) inputs, plus an Ethernet port for Neumann’s MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment. MA 1 measures the room with a calibrated microphone and applies a room-adaptive target curve, so a Neumann KH 310 II or KH 350 pair, or a mixed set spanning the wider KH range, can be aligned consistently across stereo, surround and immersive setups without manual EQ guesswork.

Pricing and availability

Neumann has not published an official recommended retail price for the Neumann KH 310 II or the KH 350. Authorized dealers such as Thomann and Sweetwater are already listing the KH 310 II at roughly €2,999 / $2,999 per cabinet and the KH 350 at roughly €3,599 / $3,599 per cabinet, with both models shown as currently shipping. Buyers should confirm final regional pricing and lead times with a local Neumann dealer.

Key specifications

Key specifications for the Neumann KH 310 II and KH 350 at a glance:

  • Configuration: 3-way active studio monitor with integrated 32-bit DSP
  • Drivers: 1″ tweeter, 3″ soft-dome midrange, 8.25″ woofer (shared platform)
  • Amplification: 585 W total, high-efficiency class D
  • KH 310 II cabinet: sealed, +5 dB max SPL over predecessor, ±0.6 dB linearity (100 Hz-10 kHz)
  • KH 350 cabinet: bass-reflex, nearly 2x the volume of the KH 310 II, extension to 27 Hz (±6 dB)
  • Connectivity: analog XLR, digital AES3id (BNC in/out), Ethernet for MA 1
  • Room correction: MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment (optional, calibrated mic + room-adaptive target curve)
  • Recommended listening distance: KH 310 II 1.0-2.5 m; KH 350 1.2-3.0 m

Publisher

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
