Bang & Olufsen, renowned worldwide for its innovative audio products and refined aesthetics, proudly announces a new collaboration with the Italian natural stone brand Antolini®. This partnership is part of Bang & Olufsen’s exclusive Atelier Bespoke offering and celebrates a shared passion for craftsmanship, innovation, and artistic expression. The result is a unique combination of high-quality materials and sound technology that appeals to both the senses and emotions.
Debut During Milan Design Week
The collaboration is officially unveiled at the prestigious Milan Design Week with the launch of the Beosound Balance Natura speaker. This special loudspeaker is crafted from carefully selected natural stones by Antolini® and features custom Bang & Olufsen design elements. The outcome is a harmonious interplay between natural materials and advanced audio technology.
A Work of Art in Material and Sound
According to Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen, the Beosound Balance Natura “embodies this collaboration, a seamless fusion of nature and innovation.” He emphasizes that the project delivers an emotional experience by transforming stone and sound into a piece of art that appeals to both the senses and the soul. Teär adds, “Together, we have turned material into emotion: shaping stone and sculpting sound into an artwork that engages both the senses and the spirit.”
Carlo Alberto Antolini, owner of Antolini®, highlights that this collaboration is more than a meeting of materials. It’s a dialogue between aesthetics and performance, nature and technology, history and avant-garde. He states that they have transformed precious materials into unique sensory experiences that tell Mother Nature’s story while evoking emotions through artistic design.
Innovative Design and Materials
The Beosound Balance Natura features an innovative pedestal that combines Antolini®’s craftsmanship in stone with Bang & Olufsen’s expertise in aluminum. This sculptural base elevates the speaker to the ideal listening height and simultaneously functions as a striking interior statement and a practical audio element.
The speaker is available in select Antolini® natural quartz from the Exclusive Collection and fossilized wood from the Precioustone Collection. Examples include Cristallo Iceberg®, Cristallo Vitrum ‘Wow’, Cristallo Rosa ‘Wow’, as well as Retro Grey, Retro Brown, and Retro Fancyblack fossilized wood. These materials are characterized by their transparency and depth, allowing light, texture, and sound to intertwine in a refined manner.
A Harmonious Visual Dialogue
A striking detail is the anodized aluminum ring placed between the pedestal and the speaker. This creates a smooth visual transition between the natural and technical elements. Tiina Kierysch, Head of Design at Bang & Olufsen, explains: “We didn’t want to create a standard pedestal where the speaker just sits. Our vision was to craft an extension of the product that exudes a sense of unity. The sculptural stone pedestal fully embraces the Beosound Balance, making it feel like one cohesive piece. The brushed aluminum ring provides a subtle contrast and enhances the dialogue between the vibrancy of stone and the precision of aluminum.”
Limited Collection and Complementary Products
To mark this collaboration, Bang & Olufsen and Antolini® are launching a limited collection of only 16 custom-made speakers. Each piece combines unique Antolini® natural stones with special finishes from the Bang & Olufsen Atelier, giving each a distinctive, exclusive look.
Additionally, the collection is complemented by high-end audiovisual products finished in Antolini® Amazonite® quartzite, including a Beovision Theatre 55” TV and a pair of Beolab 28 speakers. The vivid stone pedestals introduce a fresh aesthetic that perfectly aligns with Bang & Olufsen’s signature neutral tones and timeless elegance.
