Czech high-end loudspeaker specialist Xavian has expanded its Natura series with the launch of the Grande Unica, a floorstanding model that builds directly on the success and design philosophy of the recent Unica standmount. Priced at €2,000 per pair, the Grande Unica brings enhanced scale, authority, and bass performance while retaining the handcrafted charm and organic musicality that have defined the Natura line.
The Grande Unica follows in the footsteps of its smaller sibling, the Unica, which earned praise as an exceptional entry point into Xavian’s world of artisanal loudspeakers. Drawing from refinements made to the Unica as well as legacy models like the Madre Perla, the new floorstander enlarges the concept to deliver greater fullness, detail, and majestic presence. With high sensitivity, the speakers are said to unleash the euphoria, liveliness, and full energy of music, while offering enviable bass depth that performs convincingly even in everyday listening environments.
Solid oak
Crafted entirely by hand in Xavian’s workshops in Hostivice near Prague, the cabinets are constructed from 23 mm thick solid oak—a material choice that ensures exceptional rigidity and contributes to the speaker’s natural, unforced character. The matte varnish, infused with a subtle hint of natural wax, accentuates the wood grain, creating a visually warm and organic appearance. Rounded edges, flowing lines, and an elegantly shaped bass reflex port highlight the level of meticulous handwork involved—techniques that Xavian emphasizes are achieved without compromise, even at this accessible price point.
AudioBarletta drivers
At the core of the Grande Unica are custom-designed AudioBarletta drivers, produced in Italy to Xavian’s exact specifications. These are paired with a crossover network featuring carefully selected Jantzen components, resulting in a tuning described as pleasant, organic, and forgiving. The speakers are optimized for real-world placement, performing best when positioned 10–20 cm from the rear wall—no elaborate toe-in or room treatments required—making them an ideal choice for normal living spaces rather than dedicated listening rooms.
Grande Unica’s versatility
Xavian highlights the Grande Unica’s versatility, noting that its parameters allow easy pairing with virtually any amplifier, from low-powered tube designs to solid-state models. This combination of high sensitivity, natural sound, and straightforward setup positions the speaker as a compelling option for music lovers seeking high-fidelity performance without complexity.
Due to the handmade production process and current demand, delivery times are approximately one month from order confirmation.
The Xavian Grande Unica is now available directly from Xavian or through authorized dealers, priced at €2,000 per pair. Founded in 1997 by Roberto Barletta, Xavian remains an independent, family-owned Czech manufacturer dedicated to handcrafted loudspeakers that prioritize musical enjoyment, natural materials, and exceptional build quality. The Natura series, including models like the Unica and now the Grande Unica, continues to offer audiophiles accessible yet uncompromising high-end performance rooted in traditional craftsmanship.
