Samsung Electronics will take its connected gaming ecosystem to Gamescom 2026, running August 26-30 at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. Under the banner #PlaySamsung, the Samsung Gamescom 2026 stand ties together PC, console and mobile gaming, with the 6K Odyssey G8 monitor, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and the 9100 PRO SSD among the products on the floor.
Gamescom remains the largest gaming event in the world, drawing roughly 1,500 exhibitors from the software, hardware and content sectors and, according to organizers, 360,000 visitors last year. This year’s theme, “Games Spark Excitement for the Future,” frames Samsung’s pitch: rather than showing off isolated gadgets, the company wants to demonstrate how its gaming hardware increasingly works as one connected system.
A 6K Monitor Anchors the Stand
The headline product at Samsung Gamescom 2026 is the Odyssey G8, which the company bills as the world’s first 6K gaming monitor. Its Dual Mode lets players switch between a 6K ultra-high-resolution image at 165Hz and a faster 3K mode at 330Hz depending on the game, while G-SYNC compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium support keep tearing and stutter in check even in demanding titles. Visitors can try the 6K panel, complete with HDR10+ GAMING support, running Pearl Abyss’ action-adventure title Crimson Desert.
Mobile gaming gets its own showcase through the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Samsung’s current foldable flagship, alongside the 9100 PRO, a PCIe 5.0 SSD built for next-generation storage demands in gaming rigs and workstations alike.
Competitions and Community Events
Beyond hardware demos, the stand runs a full program throughout Gamescom, including competitions built around the Sonic franchise and a cosplay show. On August 27 and 28, Samsung hosts the World Finals of the #PlayGalaxy Cup, a global competition that puts Galaxy smartphone gaming performance to the test. The finals open with a PUBG Mobile exhibition match between three international gaming influencers, followed by ten teams that qualified through five regional tournaments across North America, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia and Southwest Asia competing for the title.
Pricing and Availability
The products on display at Samsung Gamescom 2026 are already shipping rather than newly announced: the 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS) launched earlier this year at $1,599.99 in the US, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra has been available since early August, and the 9100 PRO SSD ships in capacities up to 8TB.
