Onkyo is marking eight decades since founder Takeshi Godai’s first designs with an anniversary lineup built to look backward and forward at once. At Audio Advice Live 2026, Onkyo showcases the 80th Anniversary Edition MUSE Y-50(G) Network Integrated Amplifier alongside new Creator Series powered monitors, pairing vintage Onkyo design cues with modern streaming and DSP technology.
A Return to Onkyo’s Integra-Era Design Language
The MUSE Y-50 carries forward the unmistakable aesthetic of the 1990s Integra era, when Onkyo’s Integra name represented the pinnacle of its engineering. Inspired by the iconic Integra M-588 amplifier, the MUSE Y-50(G) pairs Bordeaux walnut side panels with a rigid aluminum Champagne Gold front panel and a San Kuzushi-patterned ventilated top plate inspired by Japanese design. A 5.46-inch color LCD displays song information and analog-style VU meters, while the Onkyo Controller app handles day-to-day system management.
250 Watts of Class D Power With Modern Streaming
Behind that retro-styled panel, the MUSE Y-50 delivers 250 watts of Class D power into 4-ohm speakers through an Axign amplifier module with MOSFET output, backed by proprietary room calibration technology developed specifically for the MUSE Series. Connectivity spans analog RCA, coaxial, HDMI and HDMI ARC, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and MM/MC phono inputs, plus Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Qplay, positioning the MUSE Y-50 as a genuine streaming hub rather than a nostalgia piece. It follows the standard Onkyo MUSE Y-50 as a distinct, dressed-up anniversary variant.
Creator Series Monitors Join the Anniversary Lineup
Alongside the MUSE Y-50, Onkyo’s Creator GX-30ARC and GX-10DB Powered Monitors take design cues from the 1987 Onkyo D-200 Liverpool monitors, with dark silver trim rings, textured black baffles, Bordeaux walnut finishes and angled stands built from grain-textured ABS resin. Both monitors use bi-amplification to power tweeter and woofer independently, and the GX-30ARC adds Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, optical, RCA/phono, AUX, a subwoofer pre-out and HDMI ARC for desktop, gaming or turntable setups.
Pricing and availability
The 80th Anniversary MUSE Y-50 Network Integrated Amplifier, along with the Creator GX-30ARC and GX-10DB monitors, arrives in August 2026 through onkyo.com and authorized retailers.
