HARMAN Luxury Audio Group has named Shelley’s Stereo, the Woodland Hills retailer that has served Southern California’s audio enthusiasts since 1959, as the newest U.S. dealer to carry the JBL Summit Series. The announcement places Shelley’s among a select group of dealers nationwide chosen to represent the complete JBL Summit Series lineup — JBL’s newly finished, five-model range of ultra high-performance loudspeakers built for the world’s most discerning listeners.
A Six-Decade Match
Shelley’s Stereo has spent nearly seven decades presenting Southern California clients with systems built for accurate music reproduction, backed by the highly personalized service that has defined the company since its earliest days in two-channel stereo. Alon Moscovitch, who joined Shelley’s in 1987 and became its owner and president in 2001, now leads the company from its Woodland Hills showroom.
“Since 1959, we’ve built this business one relationship at a time, always chasing the same thing, which is sound that moves people,” Moscovitch said. “The first time I heard JBL Summit, it simply sounded lifelike. Every song had an emotional impact and an instrumental presence I don’t get tired of. It belongs in our showroom.”

Five Models Inside the JBL Summit Series
The JBL Summit Series traces its lineage to Project Everest, first introduced in 1985, and the Project K2 line that followed it — the same heritage JBL drew on when it first reintroduced the Summit Everest and Summit K2 for its 80th anniversary. Every model in the JBL Summit Series is voiced through JBL’s signature Sonoglass HDI (High-Definition Imaging) horn and anchored by JBL’s triple-layer HC4 composite cone, a carbon-fiber-and-pulp blend engineered for stiffness and low distortion. Each speaker also shares JBL’s proprietary MultiCap crossover network, carbon-fiber-wrapped rhodium-plated binding posts, and engineered IsoAcoustics isolation feet, housed in heavily braced cabinets finished to the standard of fine furniture.
Summit Everest, the flagship, is a 3.5-way, dual 15-inch floor-standing reference loudspeaker with three 2-inch dual-motor compression drivers, dual 10-inch mid-bass drivers and a pair of 15-inch woofers. Summit K2 follows as a 3-way 15-inch floor-stander, while Summit Makalu (3-way, 12-inch) and Summit Pumori (3-way, 10-inch) scale the same engineering down for smaller rooms. Summit Ama, a 2-way stand-mount, completes the lineup for listeners who want Summit-level voicing without a full floor-stander.
