Samsung and CANVAS HiFi Merge TV and Sound Into The HiFi S99H

A furniture-integrated design combines Samsung's flagship OLED with CANVAS HiFi's audio system, premiering at IFA 2026

Samsung and CANVAS HiFi The HiFi S99H combining an OLED TV and HiFi system in one furniture-integrated design

The CANVAS HiFi S99H is CANVAS HiFi and Samsung’s next step in their collaboration: a Danish-designed concept that merges Samsung’s flagship S99H OLED TV with CANVAS HiFi’s own audio system into a single, furniture-integrated object. Where last year’s The HiFi Frame paired CANVAS with Samsung’s lifestyle-focused The Frame, the new CANVAS HiFi S99H is built around Samsung’s 2026 OLED flagship and aimed squarely at buyers who want reference-level picture and sound without a conventional TV-plus-soundbar layout.

One Continuous Object, Not a TV Over a Soundbar

The defining feature of the CANVAS HiFi S99H is CANVAS HiFi’s signature horizontal wood lamellas, which no longer stop at the edges of the audio module but continue up the sides and across the top of the television itself. The OLED panel effectively becomes part of a single piece of furniture rather than sitting above a separate speaker enclosure, a visual language CANVAS has used since its first products but is applying here to a full-size flagship TV for the first time.

The wood lamellas continue uninterrupted from the CANVAS audio module up the sides of the Samsung OLED panel.

Samsung’s 2026 OLED Flagship Underneath

The Samsung S99H sits at the top of Samsung’s 2026 OLED lineup, offered in 55, 65, 77 and 83-inch sizes, all shared by the CANVAS HiFi S99H. It runs a 3,840 x 2,160 OLED panel with the third-generation NQ4 AI processor, OLED HDR Pro, Glare Free coating and 4K AI Upscaling Pro, plus Motion Xcelerator up to 165Hz refresh with variable refresh rate support, positioning the set for gaming as much as film and TV viewing. Samsung’s own FloatLayer design, built for a slim, nearly floating look on its own, is reinterpreted here as one element of the larger CANVAS object rather than a standalone statement.

CANVAS or CANVAS L for the Audio Side

Buyers choose between two audio configurations. The established CANVAS system uses two 165mm SB Acoustics paper-cone woofers, two 29mm silk-dome tweeters in CANVAS waveguides and two passive radiators, driven by a four-channel Class D amplifier producing 250W total, with a Burr-Brown DAC handling up to 24-bit/192kHz and a quad-core Analog Devices DSP running linear-phase FIR filtering and CANVAS’s BACCH 3D signal processing. Room correction runs through the CANVAS iOS app, using either an iPhone’s microphone or the optional Zen Mic. The larger CANVAS L arrives later with its detailed specifications still unpublished at announcement.

A Standalone Streamer, Not Just TV Sound

CANVAS built the system to work independently of the television as well. HDMI eARC handles the TV connection, with TOSLINK and an analogue input alongside it, while Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Roon, TIDAL, Spotify Connect and DLNA let the system serve as a full music streamer in its own right. Mounting options include a fixed wall bracket or floor stand as standard, with an optional swivel floor stand in aluminium or black for systems placed away from a wall.

The HiFi Frame Continues Alongside It

CANVAS HiFi is positioning the CANVAS HiFi S99H next to its existing CANVAS L soundbar lineup rather than replacing it. The HiFi Frame keeps its focus on Samsung’s The Frame and Art Mode for buyers prioritising art-display versatility, while the CANVAS HiFi S99H shifts the emphasis toward outright picture and sound performance.

Pricing and availability

The CANVAS HiFi S99H makes its premiere at IFA 2026 in Berlin, where CANVAS HiFi and Samsung will demonstrate it for the first time at Hall 21, Stand 108. Complete systems with the standard CANVAS audio configuration start at €7,999, with all four screen sizes reaching selected CANVAS Gallery showrooms from October 2026; CANVAS L variants follow toward the end of 2026. Full technical details are available via CANVAS HiFi.

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
