Bluesound Apple Music support has arrived on BluOS. Apple Music subscribers can now stream more than 100 million songs, ad-free, directly through Bluesound wireless speakers, stereo components and soundbars, without routing audio through a phone or tablet.
BLUESOUND, the premium wireless multi-room audio brand, announced the update on 20 October 2026. Apple Music joins the other streaming services already built into the BluOS Controller app, giving existing subscribers a native way to bring their library into every room of the house.
Getting started takes only a sign-in. Listeners log in to Apple Music inside the BluOS Controller app and can immediately play it on any Bluesound Player, from a PULSE FLEX in the kitchen to a NODE connected to a hi-fi system in the living room or a PULSE CINEMA soundbar under the TV. An active Apple Music subscription is required.
Matt Simmonds, Bluesound Product Manager, says the addition reflects the brand’s focus on discovery and flexibility. “Bluesound has always been about music discovery and the freedom to enjoy their music their way, in every room they listen in. Adding Apple Music means even more listeners can bring the music they love to their Bluesound system, with the simplicity of the BluOS Controller app and the sound quality Bluesound is known for.”

More Music, Every Room
Apple Music adds personalised recommendations, expert-curated playlists, artist-hosted shows and global radio programming to the catalogue already available through BluOS. With multi-room support, listeners can stream Apple Music on a single Bluesound Player, group several players and zones together for whole-home listening, or play something different in every room. The new integration sits alongside the Apple AirPlay 2 support that has long been part of BluOS, giving Apple Music subscribers two ways to reach their Bluesound system.
Bluesound Apple Music Streams Directly From the Player
A key difference from AirPlay is where the music actually comes from. With native integration, the Bluesound Player streams Apple Music itself rather than relaying audio from a connected phone or tablet, so playback keeps running even if that device goes to sleep or leaves the room. Industry reporting on the rollout notes that the integration uses Apple’s MusicKit framework at AAC 256kbps, so it is not a hi-res or lossless feed — AirPlay 2 remains the route to Apple’s lossless catalogue for now.
Beyond Bluesound’s Own Speakers
The update is not limited to Bluesound-branded gear. Apple Music is also available on compatible BluOS-enabled products from NAD Electronics, PSB Speakers, DALI Loudspeakers, Cyrus and Monitor Audio, extending the same multi-room streaming to a much wider range of hi-fi systems built around the BluOS platform.
Part of a Broader BluOS Push
Bluesound’s parent company Lenbrook has steadily expanded the BluOS platform across its brands over the past year, most recently showing the shared ecosystem across Bluesound, PSB, NAD and DALI at CEDIA Expo 2026. The Apple Music integration follows that same pattern: one software update that reaches every BluOS-enabled product line at once, rather than a feature limited to a single speaker or soundbar. Bluesound has also continued to round out its own line-up this year, including the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI soundbars.
For custom installers, native Apple Music support closes a gap that AirPlay 2 alone could not: clients increasingly expect their existing subscription to work the same way a dedicated multi-room system does, without depending on a phone staying connected. Combined with BluOS’s existing library of streaming services, the update keeps Bluesound and its partner brands competitive against other multi-room ecosystems built around a single dominant platform.
Availability
Apple Music support is available now on Bluesound and compatible BluOS-enabled devices through a free BluOS software update, as detailed on the official Bluesound news page. An active Apple Music subscription is required; no new hardware purchase is needed for existing BluOS players.
