Following the launch of the AVENTHO Y wireless headphones in September, beyerdynamic is now introducing two new beyerdynamic AVENTHO Y accessories that give owners more ways to personalise their headphones. There are new velour ear pads for extra comfort, and an upgrade package with a low-latency dongle and a detachable microphone for calls, voice chat and content creation. Both are available now.

The first of the two beyerdynamic AVENTHO Y accessories brings the familiar look and feel of beyerdynamic’s studio headphones to the AVENTHO Y. Velour ear pads have long been a signature of the brand’s studio models, and beyerdynamic says they offer added comfort. The new pads come in grey and black.
Thanks to their magnetic attachment, swapping them takes only seconds. That fits the AVENTHO Y concept well: from the start, beyerdynamic designed the headphones with easily replaceable ear pads, and the battery is user-replaceable too.
The upgrade package: dongle and microphone
The second accessory is aimed at people who use their headphones for more than music. The upgrade package includes a low-latency dongle that keeps audio and video in sync, which helps when you watch video, join a video call or play games on a computer. It also includes a colour-matched detachable microphone for clearer voice communication.
With the upgrade package fitted, the AVENTHO Y becomes a full headset for calls, voice chat and content creation. When you just want to listen to music on the go, you simply remove the microphone again.
The timing of these beyerdynamic AVENTHO Y accessories is no surprise. When the headphones were announced, beyerdynamic already said that an optional upgrade package with a USB-C dongle and a colour-matched boom microphone would follow, and it has now arrived as promised.

The AVENTHO Y was unveiled ahead of IFA 2026 in Berlin, built around beyerdynamic’s “Hear your Why” concept. It uses a 45 mm dynamic driver and offers active noise cancellation. Battery life is a strong point, with up to 90 hours with ANC switched off, or more than 60 hours with ANC engaged. Five minutes of fast charging adds another six hours of playback.
