A full Vitus Audio Signature system, with help from Monitor Audio, Crystal Cable and SME
AVA Group’s business audio room at Munich ran almost entirely on its own Vitus Audio Signature line, with one exception: the phono stage was the Masterpiece-series unit the brand had already shown the year before. This year’s system was rounded out with help from three partners — Monitor Audio supplied its new flagship loudspeaker, the Hyphn; Crystal Cable provided a complete cable loom; and SME contributed its top turntable, the SME Model 60.
Two new prototypes: a SIA-030 phono module, and the SM-025
Two new products were shown as late-stage prototypes. The first is a dedicated SIA-030 phono module for the Signature-series SIA-030 integrated amplifier — a project AVA Group says has been in development for a long time, with several obstacles along the way before reaching this stage. The second is the SM-025 monaural power amplifier, which replaces the SM-011 and is built on a new shared platform intended to carry future Vitus Audio products as well.
Five different sources, one goal: bring hi-fi to more people
The room played through five different source types side by side — network streaming, streaming from a hard drive, CD, the SME turntable, and reel-to-reel — covering the full range of sources found in a typical hi-fi setup. AVA Group says the aim behind the room is less about chasing the extreme end of the hobby and more about reintroducing people who have never heard a proper hi-fi system to what they’ve been missing.
