Starting with vinyl does not have to mean shopping for three or four separate components. With the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT bundle, the Japanese brand pairs its popular wireless turntable with a set of powered bookshelf speakers, so a complete record-playing system comes in one box.
Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT bundle: one box, no extra amplifier
The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT bundle (model AT-LP60XBT-BDL3X) combines the fully automatic AT-LP60XBT belt-drive turntable with the AT-SP3X powered speakers. No receiver or separate amplifier is needed: the speakers connect to the turntable wirelessly via Bluetooth, or with the supplied RCA cable. That makes the set an easy way into vinyl for anyone with a small room, a student flat or simply no space for a full hi-fi rack. And because both components also work on their own, the system can grow later: the turntable can be connected to a full amplifier, and the speakers can stream music from a phone.
AT-LP60XBT: fully automatic and wireless
The AT-LP60XBT is Audio-Technica’s entry-level wireless turntable. It plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and starts and stops automatically at the push of a button, so the stylus never has to be lowered by hand. An updated tonearm base and headshell improve tracking and reduce resonance, while the integrated Dual Magnet phono cartridge uses a replaceable ATN3600L diamond stylus. Besides Bluetooth, the turntable can also be connected by cable, thanks to its built-in phono preamplifier.
AT-SP3X powered speakers
The compact AT-SP3X speakers each use a 3-inch woofer and a 1.1-inch tweeter, tuned by a built-in DSP, with a total output of 30 watts. Frequency response is 55 Hz to 20 kHz. Besides two analogue RCA inputs, they offer Bluetooth 5.3 (SBC), so they can also play music from a phone or tablet. A 2-metre cable connects the two speakers, and power comes from the supplied AC adapter. Each speaker measures 200 × 125 × 136 mm.
The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT bundle comes in black. The turntable itself is also available separately in other colours; read our news on the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT in teal.
