Artnovion has introduced the Chroma, a tensioned fabric acoustic panel built to work as both room treatment and interior design. Rather than positioning the Artnovion Chroma as a purely technical product, the Portuguese acoustics specialist frames it as a canvas: a panel that can disappear into a wall, stand out as colourful wall art, or carry a fully custom printed image, all while doing genuine acoustic work behind the fabric.
A Tensioned Fabric Panel Built Around Artnovion’s Aluminium Frame
At its core, the Artnovion Chroma is an absorber panel: a tensioned fabric front stretched over Artnovion’s aluminium profile, backed by a high-performance acoustic core. The construction keeps the panel slim and uniform from edge to edge, so a run of several Chroma panels reads as one continuous surface rather than a row of separate tiles. Artnovion rates the Chroma absorber for an absorption range of 250 Hz to 5,000 Hz at Acoustic Class B (αw = 0.85), aimed at reducing reverberation time, controlling flutter echo and improving speech intelligibility in rooms that were never built with acoustics in mind.

Two Cores, One Uniform Look
Artnovion offers the Chroma with a choice of core depending on the finish selected: a Suede Acoustic Fabric front paired with Calibrated Cell Acoustic Foam, or an acoustically transparent Weave Acoustic Fabric that Artnovion says can be placed directly in front of loudspeakers without compromising sound quality. The brand’s press materials also describe a recycled PET core option for the Chroma range, giving specifiers a choice between the two constructions depending on the absorption and sustainability targets of a given room. Frames come in aluminium, lacquered black or lacquered white, with the fabric available across ten Suede and ten Weave colourways plus an extended custom-colour catalogue on request.
A Panel That Can Also Be a Print
What sets the Artnovion Chroma apart from a standard absorption panel is its second life as decor. The fabric front can be custom printed with a personalised image, turning a functional acoustic panel into a piece of wall art sized to the room. In the examples Artnovion is showing, a Chroma panel printed with a forest photograph anchors a hallway, while elsewhere plain Chroma panels in tan and sage are hung in pairs above a sofa purely for their colour and texture, treating the room while reading as abstract art rather than acoustic hardware.

Where Artnovion Sees Chroma Fitting
Artnovion positions the Chroma for hotels, clinics and healthcare spaces, public buildings, museums and galleries, offices and meeting rooms, and retail or commercial interiors, alongside the office meeting rooms, conference rooms, open workspaces and lobbies listed in its technical documentation. That is a notably broader brief than Artnovion’s cinema-focused ChromaX system, which combines multiple acoustic cores behind the same stretched-fabric language specifically for home theatre walls; the Chroma is the simpler, single-core sibling built for everyday rooms where acoustic treatment still has to look intentional.
Sizes and Fixing
The Chroma range ships in several core sizes, from the compact Chroma Double SQR Broad at 1,190 x 1,190 x 60mm up to the Chroma Max Broad at 1,190 x 2,400 x 60mm, alongside XL and Double XL formats, each with an integrated fixing system for installation. Because every size shares the same 60mm profile and fabric options, rooms can mix formats without breaking the uniform look the tensioned fabric front is designed to preserve.
Pricing and availability
Artnovion has not published global list pricing for the Chroma; as with the rest of its stretched-fabric portfolio, project-specific quotes run through Artnovion directly at sales@artnovion.com or through regional partners, with pricing dependent on size, core, frame finish and fabric choice. Full technical files and the extended colour catalogue are available through Artnovion’s website.
