Artnovion ChromaX is the Portuguese acoustics specialist’s newest platform for home cinema walls, built to fold absorption, diffusion and bass trapping into a single, continuous stretched-fabric surface. Where earlier stretched-fabric panels typically handled one acoustic job at a time, Artnovion ChromaX is engineered around a lacquered aluminium profile and an acoustically transparent fabric front that lets a full acoustic package disappear behind a uniform wall, without breaking up the room’s sightlines toward the screen.
ChromaX: Concept and Construction
The system is built around Artnovion’s proprietary aluminium frame, available in a lacquered black or white finish, dressed with a tensioned FG Suede or Weave acoustically transparent fabric. Because the fabric is acoustically transparent rather than merely decorative, Artnovion ChromaX can also be used to conceal wall-mounted hardware such as AV controllers, keypads and even loudspeakers, so integrators can hide electronics and drivers behind the same continuous surface used for acoustic treatment elsewhere on the wall. The result reads as a single architectural plane rather than a collection of separate panels, tiles and equipment cut-outs.
Acoustic Performance: Absorption, Diffusion and Bass Trapping Combined
Behind the fabric, Artnovion ChromaX draws on the same core logic as Artnovion’s wider Cinema Series: four interchangeable core options — Absorber Core, Diffuser Core, Bass Trap Core and Frame Core — that can be combined behind the frame to reduce flutter echo, disperse reflections evenly across the room, and stabilise low-frequency buildup, all without altering the visible fabric front. Artnovion’s own absorption data for the ChromaX absorber core shows a coefficient climbing from roughly 0.2-0.4 in the 100-250 Hz range up to a broad plateau near 1.0 through the 800 Hz-5 kHz band, in line with the 400 Hz-5,000 Hz absorption range and Class C (a_w = 0.65) rating published for Artnovion’s related Chroma stretched-fabric range. In practice, that gives integrators one frame system to address speech intelligibility, excessive reverberation and hidden bass control in the same wall.
Sizes and Configurations
Artnovion ChromaX ships in three core frame sizes: S1 at 1,440 x 1,440 x 60 mm, S2 at 1,440 x 2,400 x 60 mm, and S3 at 720 x 2,400 x 60 mm, with joiner frames and corner components available to combine multiple modules into a continuous run along a cinema or media room wall. Each frame can be specified with either the FG Suede or Weave acoustically transparent fabric, in the extended colour range Artnovion already offers across its stretched-fabric portfolio, so the finish can be matched to a room’s broader material palette rather than left as an obviously “acoustic” surface.

Artnovion has not published global list pricing for ChromaX; project-specific quotes currently run through Artnovion directly at sales@artnovion.com or through regional partners. The clearest public availability signal so far comes from Australia and New Zealand, where Krix Distribution was appointed Artnovion’s exclusive ANZ distributor in June 2026 and confirmed it will introduce ChromaX to the region for the first time, with pre-orders opening in July 2026 and dealer deliveries expected from September 2026; ANZ pricing is described as being announced closer to availability.
