Samsung’s The Premiere projector has become the first projector in the industry to receive certification from the 8K Association (8KA). This groundbreaking recognition marks a significant milestone in projection technology, highlighting Samsung’s commitment to innovation while setting a new standard for the industry.

The 8KA, a global consortium comprising leading technology companies, aims to foster the adoption and standardization of 8K technology. On December 10, it launched a New Projector certification program specifically for 8K projectors, paving the way for advancements in the 8K ecosystem.

To earn the 8KA certification, projectors must meet an extensive set of rigorous standards that enhance the viewing experience, including a resolution of 7680 x 4320, superior brightness and contrast, and an expansive color gamut that ensures vivid detail in both highlights and shadows. Other criteria involve high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities for improved visual depth, advanced 8K upscaling to optimize lower-resolution content, and immersive audio features that support the latest sound formats, creating a complete sensory experience aligned with 8K’s stunning picture quality.
