Skullcandy Crusher 720

Skullcandy has launched the Crusher 720, the latest entry in its long-running Crusher line of bass-forward wireless headphones. Built for listeners who want to feel their music as much as hear it, the Skullcandy Crusher 720 pairs the brand’s patented adjustable Crusher Bass with THX® Spatial Audio and a claimed 65 hours of battery life, all wrapped in a redesigned, more comfortable shell.

Adjustable bass you can feel

At the core of the Skullcandy Crusher 720 is the company’s signature Crusher Bass technology, which adds a tactile, sensory low-end to the listening experience rather than simply boosting volume in the bass frequencies. A dedicated slider lets owners dial the intensity up or down to taste, from a subtle rumble to the full sensory hit the Crusher series has built its reputation on. THX Spatial Audio, complete with head tracking, adds a multi-dimensional layer on top, placing the listener inside music, movies and games rather than in front of them.

Personal Sound and all-day comfort

Skullcandy’s Personal Sound feature analyses each listener’s hearing and tunes the audio to compensate for what they miss, adding detail and depth without simply cranking the volume. The Crusher 720 also introduces a reworked design, pairing plush leather-look ear cushions and velvety headband wraps with a soft-touch rubberised finish, aimed at making long listening sessions more comfortable than earlier Crusher models. Onboard EQ modes for Music, Movie, Podcast and Custom profiles, plus an adjustable Stay-Aware mode, clear-voice smart mic and Wear Detection round out the feature set, all configurable through the Skullcandy app.

Up to 65 hours of battery life with rapid charging on the Skullcandy Crusher 720

Built for long sessions, quick top-ups

Skullcandy rates the Crusher 720 for up to 65 hours of playback on a single charge, with a rapid-charge feature that delivers roughly 4 hours of playtime from just 10 minutes plugged in. Connectivity runs over Bluetooth 5.3, with support for Multipoint pairing and Low Latency Audio for gaming and video. Technical specifications list a 40.7mm driver, 36-ohm impedance and a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, putting the Crusher 720 in the same conversation as more premium over-ear designs such as the Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC, albeit at a considerably more accessible price point.

Publisher

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
