LUMIN, the acclaimed high-end digital audio specialist, has launched the LUMIN X2, its new flagship network music player that introduces a groundbreaking in-house discrete DAC architecture. Building on the global success of the award-winning X1, the X2 redefines streaming performance with meticulous engineering, ultra-low noise operation, and native support for extreme-resolution audio up to DSD512 and PCM 768kHz.

At the heart of the X2 lies LUMIN’s custom dual-mono discrete DAC – a fully bespoke design crafted from hand-selected components. Unlike off-the-shelf chip-based solutions, this discrete topology allows complete control over circuit layout, power delivery, clocking, and signal paths. The result is exceptional channel separation, minimized jitter, and a level of coherence previously unattainable in network playback.

The X2 retains LUMIN’s signature aesthetic: a solid billet CNC-machined aluminium chassis available in black or raw anodized finish. The external power supply mirrors the main unit’s construction, with thick walls for additional shielding. IsoAcoustics isolating feet are fitted as standard to the player, further reducing mechanical interference.

A Legacy of Continuous Evolution

LUMIN’s in-house software and hardware teams enable rapid feature deployment across the entire range. Recent free updates include TIDAL Max FLAC, Qobuz Connect, Plex server support, and improved Spotify Connect sound quality – all delivered seamlessly via firmware.

The X2 supports an extensive ecosystem of control apps (iOS, Android, macOS, Chromebook) and integrates natively with services like Amazon Music, KKBox, QQMusic, and TuneIn.
