KEF Sculpts the LS LUXE Into a Wireless HiFi Art Piece

Ross Lovegrove's sculptural design meets KEF's 12th-generation Uni-Q driver in a new EUR 4,000 wireless HiFi speaker system

The KEF LS LUXE, KEF's new flagship wireless bookshelf speaker system

The KEF LS LUXE is the clearest sign yet that KEF wants its wireless speakers judged as furniture as much as hi-fi. Built around the company’s 12th-generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q driver and priced at €4,000 per pair, the KEF LS LUXE was sculpted by industrial designer Ross Lovegrove – his first complete wireless stereo system after more than two decades of collaboration with KEF.

KEF LS LUXE: Driver Technology Meets Sculptural Design

At the core of every KEF LS LUXE cabinet sits the same Uni-Q driver array and Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) that anchor KEF’s flagship ranges, now paired with a newly debuted Velocity Control (VECO) technology. KEF describes VECO as a current-drive system that keeps the driver’s motor running at constant energy, cutting distortion during demanding, high-output passages – the kind of engineering usually reserved for KEF’s pricier standmount and floorstanding ranges.

The organic, low-diffraction cabinet – unmistakably a Lovegrove shape, closer to a smoothed stone than a conventional speaker box – is designed to reduce unwanted internal vibration while doubling as a genuine design object. Each pair ships in a choice of three finishes: Dusk Titanium, Eclipse Black and Mineral White, with the designer’s signature engraved into the rear panel of every unit.

Control and Connectivity

The KEF LS LUXE runs on the KEF Connect app for EQ adjustment and day-to-day source control, backed by a physical C3 remote with an aluminium plate, backlit buttons and a customisable favourite-source key – the same accessory KEF sells separately for its other LS-series wireless speakers. On the back panel, HDMI eARC, optical, coaxial and AUX inputs cover TV and turntable duties, while dual dedicated subwoofer outputs allow a wired connection or KEF’s KW1 wireless adapter, so the system can grow into a full home-theatre setup without a separate AV receiver.

Pricing and availability

  • KEF LS LUXE: €4,000 / $3,999.99 per pair
  • Available in Dusk Titanium, Eclipse Black and Mineral White
  • Early access opened first to myKEF members, ahead of a wider retail rollout

The KEF LS LUXE sits above the LS50 Wireless II in KEF’s lineup, positioned less as a straightforward upgrade and more as a design-led flagship for buyers who want a wireless system that looks as considered as it sounds. It is also the most complete expression yet of KEF’s long-running relationship with Lovegrove, whose sculptural language has previously shown up in smaller KEF accessories and concept pieces but never before across an entire stereo pair. Owners of the standalone KEF C3 remote will recognise the same control hardware bundled in as standard here.

Full specifications, finish options and ordering details for the KEF LS LUXE are published on KEF’s own product page.

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
