The JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2 delivers 1,500 watts of output with an integrated touchscreen controller.

JBL has announced the JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2, calling it the most powerful party speaker it has ever created. According to JBL’s official announcement, the new JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2 delivers 1,500 watts of JBL Legendary Sound, more than 36% greater output than the previous generation, combining professional-grade acoustic components, AI Sound Boost technology, a built-in touchscreen controller and synchronized party lighting into a single portable speaker system.

“As global market leader in the party speaker category, JBL continues to drive the category forward. Pulling on all our experience in professional and portable audio, PartyBox Ultimate 2 is a true flagship of our PartyBox range as it represents the very best of JBL,” said Carsten Olesen, President, Consumer Audio at HARMAN.

Huge sound with every small detail from the JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2

The JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2’s completely upgraded acoustic architecture combines dual pro-grade PEN tweeters with horns, the same technology found in JBL’s professional systems, alongside dual 5-inch mid-range drivers and dual 10-inch woofers. The result is a wider soundstage with deeper bass, richer vocals and greater detail across every frequency. AI Sound Boost continuously analyzes audio in real time, optimizing performance for powerful, dynamic sound with very low distortion, even at maximum volume.

Touchscreen control and party features

As the first PartyBox to feature an integrated touchscreen, the JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2’s volume dial doubles as a touchscreen controller, providing instant access to music, lighting and key settings, including the current song and active lightshow. The speaker’s next-generation PartyBox lightshow combines dynamic ripple effects, multilayer lighting and bold floor projection that fills the room with striking visuals.

Built-in EasySing AI Vocal Removal instantly transforms songs into karaoke-ready tracks and works with JBL EasySing Mics, while a selection of party games adds extra entertainment. Despite its power, the JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2 is designed to move with the party, featuring larger, sturdier wheels and an ergonomic handle for improved transportability, alongside an IPX4 splashproof rating and a housing made with recycled materials.

The JBL One App provides full control of lighting, features and settings, and the speaker can be linked with other Auracast-enabled JBL speakers for synchronized multi-room sound. The JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2 will be available from October 6, 2026, on JBL.com and at selected retailers for €1,599.

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
