Fresh ‘n Rebel Revives Y2K Style With the Clam Core 2 and Fuse 2

The Clam Core 2 and Clam Fuse 2 bring a Y2K-inspired refresh to Fresh n Rebel's everyday headphone lineup

Fresh ‘n Rebel is leaning into Y2K nostalgia with its refreshed Clam Series, updating two of its most popular everyday headphones. The Clam Core 2 and Clam Fuse 2 keep the soft, rounded shapes and playful colourways that made the originals a daily-wear favourite, but back both models with newer chips, longer battery life and a more complete feature set.

It is a straightforward generational update rather than a reinvention, and that is very much the point: familiar comfort, dressed for 2026. Both headphones sit at opposite ends of the same Clam Series, giving shoppers a clear choice between a simpler daily driver and a more feature-loaded option, without stepping outside the same soft, rounded design language.

Clam Core 2: the everyday classic, evolved

The Clam Core 2 is positioned as Fresh ‘n Rebel’s go-to daily headphone, now with a sturdier matte finish and a longer list of conveniences. Wireless playtime is rated at 70+ hours, and Multipoint Bluetooth lets it switch seamlessly between two connected devices — handy for anyone alternating between a laptop and a phone through the day. An ENC microphone handles calls, the My Sound App allows personal EQ tuning, and voice-assistant support is built in. The headphone folds and rotates flat for storage, keeps physical volume and play/pause controls, and can fall back to a wired connection via the included USB-C to USB-C cable when the battery does eventually run out.

Clam Core 2 launches in three colourways — Silky Sand, Berry Red and Ice Grey — priced at €45.99.

Clam Fuse 2: more control, more staying power

The Clam Fuse 2 sits above the Core 2 as the more feature-rich model, adding Adaptive Hybrid ANC alongside an Adjustable Ambient Sound Mode, so listeners can shut out background noise or let it back in without swapping headphones. Battery life is rated at 80+ hours in normal use, dropping to a still-substantial 50 hours with ANC switched on, and a 10-minute quick charge is said to add up to 12 hours of playtime. Dual ENC microphones aim to keep calls clear over background noise, and like the Core 2, the Fuse 2 pairs with the My Sound App, supports Multipoint Bluetooth, folds flat, and includes a wired USB-C fallback mode.

Clam Fuse 2 is available in Dreamy Lilac, Real Teal and Pastel Pink, priced at €69.99 — the more feature-rich half of the Clam Series lineup.

Pricing and availability

Both headphones are pitched as everyday companions rather than showcase products, which shows in the pricing: €45.99 for the Clam Core 2 and €69.99 for the Clam Fuse 2, the latter’s premium reflecting the added ANC hardware and roughly 10 extra hours of battery life. Fresh ‘n Rebel frames the launch around a Y2K aesthetic — soft rounded forms, glossy detailing and a nostalgic colour palette — applied to hardware that is otherwise thoroughly current. Both models join the brand’s existing headphone and earbud lineup, including the recently covered Fresh ‘n Rebel Eve sleep earplugs. As with earlier Clam Series releases, no specific retail launch date beyond “available now” was mentioned in the announcement, and no wider regional pricing outside the euro figures above was provided. Both models are listed on the brand’s own Clam Series shop page, alongside the rest of the line-up.

Publisher

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
