Esoteric has launched the T-01, an analog turntable built around the brand’s patented “Esoteric MagneDrive” contactless drive system. The Esoteric T-01 brings a technology first seen in the flagship Grandioso T1 down into a more installation-friendly chassis, and it will ship internationally from the end of September 2026.
Esoteric T-01: A Contact-Free Drive System, Four Years On
The Esoteric T-01 inherits its signature feature from the Grandioso T1: a patented (JP6501130) magnetic drive system in which a dome-shaped “Magnetic Driver,” mounted on top of the motor, induces rotation in a soft-iron “Induction Wheel” fitted around the platter’s underside. Because driver and platter never physically touch, the T-01 isolates the platter from motor-borne vibration and rumble entirely, which Esoteric credits for the turntable’s rotational silence, stability and high-torque bass performance. Esoteric says it devoted more than five years to developing and patenting the MagneDrive system before bringing it to market, and the T-01 marks its first appearance outside the Grandioso range, four years after the T1 debuted.
Magne-Float Platter and a Triple-Layer Chassis
Beyond the drive itself, the Esoteric T-01 uses what the brand calls Magne-Float Platter Technology, which reduces the platter’s effective mass from 13kg to roughly 4kg and lowers friction at the spindle bearing. The chassis combines aluminum and wood in a triple-layered construction designed to control vibration, with a mid-chassis panel finished in high-gloss piano lacquer, and the whole assembly sits on isolation feet that integrate a spike, spike pad and damper in one unit. Esoteric splits the electronics into a separate-units design, with the turntable itself paired to a compact external power supply for better sound isolation and easier servicing.
For synchronization with the rest of an Esoteric system, the T-01 accepts a 10MHz external clock via a single BNC input, compatible with the brand’s G-01XD and G-05 master clocks, and its TA-9D tonearm is a static-balanced design with a 232mm effective length and a tracking force range of 0 to 3 grams. Esoteric rates wow and flutter at 0.06% or less, with speed adjustable across a ±12% range in 0.1% steps.
Two Versions, With or Without Tonearm
The T-01 will be offered in two configurations: the standard T-01 with the TA-9D tonearm fitted, and the T-01AL, an armless version for buyers who want to mount their own arm. Esoteric notes that up to two tonearms can be installed on the chassis, with an optional arm base kit available to fit other arm formats. The whole package is dressed in a triple-layer aluminum and MDF cabinet with a hand-finished, piano-lacquered mid-chassis, continuing the visual language of the rest of Esoteric’s analog and digital front-end range. It arrives in a year that has already seen several flagship-level turntable launches, including the Brinkmann Balance 33rd Anniversary edition.

Pricing and Availability
The Esoteric T-01 ships internationally from the end of September 2026. The complete T-01 with tonearm is priced at $50,000 in the US, €48,000 in the EU and £41,999 in the UK, while the armless T-01AL is priced at $46,000, €45,000 and £38,999 respectively. Buyers can contact Esoteric’s PR representative, Jaclyn Inglis, to request review samples, or visit the official Esoteric website for dealer information.
