Cambridge Audio has introduced the Melomania A100 SE, an update to its noise-cancelling true wireless earbuds that leans further into the brand’s hi-fi roots. “Some earbuds play music. A100 SE is built to make you feel it,” is how Cambridge Audio frames the new model, built with hi-fi engineering, Dolby Audio and all-day comfort for listeners who take their music seriously.
Hi-fi engineering, pocket-sized
The same engineers who design Cambridge Audio’s amplifiers worked on the Melomania A100 SE. That means hi-fi-grade Class A/B amplification driving the earbuds’ signature sound, paired with support for aptX Lossless and LDAC so music streams the way it was recorded rather than being squeezed down for Bluetooth. Behind the sound is a dual 240MHz Qualcomm Kalimba DSP setup refining audio processing and reducing distortion, with Snapdragon Sound certification covering CD-lossless streaming and low-latency connections for gaming and video.

Enhanced stereo, every listen
Dolby Audio is tuned specifically for the A100 SE, optimising sound for a wider sense of space and clearer distinction between left, centre and right. It’s built into the earbuds rather than the phone, so it works with any paired device, from a favourite album to catch-up coverage of a festival set. Precision-tuned 10mm recycled Neodymium drivers sit behind each earbud’s touch control, delivering deeper bass, richer mids and crystal-clear highs. DynamEQ keeps tonal balance consistent as volume changes, so quiet late-night listening and louder daytime sessions both sound properly balanced rather than thin or harsh.

Music first, life-proof second
Adaptive ANC handles the commute, Transparency Mode lets the world back in at the coffee shop, and six microphones (three per earbud) keep calls clear in both directions wherever they’re taken, with wind noise reduction built in for outdoor use. IPX5 water resistance and a wear-detect sensor round out daily use, while the Melomania Connect app adds a 7-band EQ, remappable touch controls for each earbud independently, codec checking and the ability to connect two devices at once. Firmware updates are delivered through the app, so new features can land after purchase rather than being locked in at launch, and both Siri and Google Assistant can be triggered directly from the earbuds for hands-free control on the move.

In the box
Each Melomania A100 SE ships with a quick start guide, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, three sizes of silicone eartips (S, M and L), a brand booklet, a function controls card and safety instructions. The charging case itself measures 60.99 x 24.60 x 44.89mm and weighs 38.7g, with each earbud weighing just 4.7g, for a combined package of 48.1g that slips easily into a jacket or jeans pocket.
Pricing and availability
The Melomania A100 SE is priced at £129 and is available now in Blue, Black and White. It sits in a lineup that already includes the original Melomania A100 and the over-ear Melomania P100 SE. For more information, visit Cambridge Audio.
