Bose has introduced two new additions to its open-ear audio lineup: the Bose Sport Open Earbuds and the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen). Full details are available at bose.com. Both new Bose Open Earbuds models use the brand’s OpenAudio technology to deliver sound near the ear rather than inside or against it, so wearers stay aware of traffic, conversations and their surroundings without active noise cancellation.
Bose OpenAudio, without bone conduction
Unlike bone-conduction designs, the new Bose Open Earbuds pair a transducer with a tightly controlled acoustic structure to deliver clear sound with minimal leakage, while Bose SoundDesign digital signal processing balances clarity and bass. Both models also add Bose SpeechClarity, a proprietary AI voice-isolation technology that uses a dedicated microphone and voice pickup unit in each earbud to keep calls clear in noisy environments.

Sport Open Earbuds: built to move
The Bose Sport Open Earbuds are built for running, fitness and outdoor activity, anchored by a C-arm cuff with a soft silicone matte finish and textured physical buttons for control during workouts. Custom dynamic drivers pair with Auto Volume, which adjusts loudness automatically as ambient noise changes, while an IP54 rating covers sweat, splash and dust resistance. Bose rates the Sport Open Earbuds for up to seven hours of playback, with 22 additional hours in the wireless-charging case.

Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen): the flagship, refined
The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) keep the cuff silhouette of the original Bose Ultra earbuds but add a newly engineered driver for deeper bass and higher volume, a refined metallic cap, and a redesigned case that now supports wireless charging. The headline new feature is Cinema Mode, powered by Bose TrueSpatial technology, which widens the soundstage for video and podcasts while keeping dialogue centered. Battery life rises to up to nine hours of playback, with 19.5 additional hours in the case, and the earbuds add Snapdragon Sound with aptX Adaptive for compatible Android devices.

Connectivity and the Bose app
Both new Bose Open Earbuds use Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint connectivity for two devices, SBC and AAC codecs, and Google Fast Pair. A planned post-launch firmware update adds Google Find Hub, Alexa+ and Apple Music shortcuts. Through the Bose app, owners can adjust a three-band EQ, configure Auto Volume and set shortcuts for Spotify Tap or a phone’s voice assistant.

The Bose Sport Open Earbuds are priced at $199 and the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) at $299.
