Henley Audio has been appointed the official UK and Ireland distributor for Andover Audio, the Boston-based brand behind the SpinBase 2 and SpinBase MAX 2 turntable speaker systems. Andover Audio SpinBase is built on a different premise than traditional hi-fi: full-range sound without a rack, separate amplifier or stand-alone speakers, delivered from a single unit that sits directly beneath a turntable.
Why an Andover Audio SpinBase Can Sit Under a Turntable
The reason a turntable can rest straight on top of an Andover Audio SpinBase unit is IsoGroove, a patented anti-vibration technology designed by veteran audio engineer Bob Hazelwood, whose career spans a/d/s/, JBL and Cambridge SoundWorks. IsoGroove cancels vibration at the source, eliminating the acoustic feedback loop that would otherwise rule out placing a turntable directly above a speaker driver. Combined with a built-in phono preamplifier, it reduces a full vinyl system to a single footprint. For another take on simplified vinyl playback, Cambridge Audio’s new Spira turntable arrived in five colours earlier this month.

SpinBase 2 and SpinBase MAX 2
The entry model, SpinBase 2, delivers 270-degree, full-range sound from a slim enclosure designed to replace a pair of bookshelf speakers outright, and is offered in Black or White. SpinBase MAX 2 builds on the same IsoGroove platform with deeper bass, finer detail and greater accuracy for listeners who want more performance without adding separate components. Henley Audio is positioning both Andover Audio SpinBase models as an accessible route into vinyl for students, teenagers and first-time record buyers, thanks to their compact footprint and simplified setup.

A Different Starting Point for Vinyl
Andover Audio was founded in 2018 around the idea that great sound should fit into daily life without demanding a dedicated listening room. The Andover Audio SpinBase series is the clearest expression of that philosophy: one enclosure handles amplification, preamp duties and a turntable platform, removing the cables and separates that typically come with building a vinyl system. With Henley Audio now handling distribution, UK and Irish retailers gain access to a segment of the vinyl revival that sits apart from traditional component hi-fi.

Pricing and availability
SpinBase 2 is priced at £349, and SpinBase MAX 2 at £549, both available now through Henley Audio’s UK and Ireland dealer network.
