Jamo has expanded its HYG Series with the Jamo HYG 5, the flagship all-in-one Wi-Fi speaker of the lineup. Where the HYG Reflect, HYG Flow and HYG Flex cover the bedside, the garden and the room-to-room carry, the Jamo HYG 5 is built for real, intentional listening at home: a streamer, amplifier and active speaker system folded into a single, fabric-wrapped cabinet.
Inside the Jamo HYG 5: A Full System in One Cabinet
Instead of stacking separate boxes, the Jamo HYG 5 packs everything into one cube wrapped in custom, seam-free knitted textile. Two 2.5-inch full-range drivers sit at a compound angle, tilted slightly up and outward, spreading the stereo image a claimed 125 degrees across the room rather than pinning it to a single sweet spot. A down-firing 4-inch woofer, backed by two symmetrical, ribbed port tubes, handles bass duty from the compact enclosure. Jamo specifies the speaker down to 45 Hz at -6 dB, with a typical in-room extension around 40 Hz.

No Sweet Spot, Deep Bass
That angled driver layout is the core promise of the Jamo HYG 5: full, clear sound whether you are on the sofa, at the table or passing through the kitchen doorway, not just in one fixed listening chair. A warm ambient light ring glows beneath the cabinet, with a built-in sensor dimming it through the day so it never competes with the room. On standby, the touch interface itself dims too, keeping the object quietly in the background until it is needed.

Purposeful Technology, Familiar Services
A wave of the palm wakes the Jamo HYG 5 and resumes playback from the last source, so there is no app to hunt for before the music starts. Streaming runs natively through Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, TuneIn and QPlay II, while AirPlay 2 and Google Cast cover casting and multi-room playback within their own ecosystems. Bluetooth 5.0 and a stereo RCA line-in catch everything else, from a turntable to a CD player, and the speaker supports hi-res audio up to 24-bit/96kHz. The Jamo Play app for iOS and Android handles setup, playback control, Jamo’s V-shape sound presets, a personalised EQ and the ambient light adjustment. Danish studio Unmute designed the power-on, pairing and other interface sounds, inspired by Nordic nature and acoustic instruments.

“We wanted music to be easier to enjoy at home. HYG 5 isn’t a system you have to tinker with – it wakes and plays whenever you want, capable and warm, without asking much of the room or of you,” says Guillaume Sirami, Chief Product Officer at Jamo.
The Jamo HYG 5 joins a HYG Series that already spans the bedside HYG Reflect, the outdoor HYG Flow and the room-to-room HYG Flex, and arrives as Jamo keeps building out its comeback under new ownership following its 2024 sale.
