NAD Electronics has added two new models to its long-running Classic Series: the NAD C 359S integrated amplifier and the NAD C 569 CD player. Announced on October 15, the pair continues NAD’s habit of pairing straightforward, knob-and-button operation with genuinely modern engineering underneath, rather than chasing ever-larger displays and menu trees.
C 359S: Class AB Power, Rebuilt From the Ground Up
The NAD C 359S keeps the traditional two-channel integrated amplifier format, but swaps the large transformer and linear supply usually associated with Class AB for a high-current, low-noise switch-mode power supply borrowed from NAD’s flagship Class D amplifiers in the Masters Series. A multi-layer circuit board separates power conversion, signal processing and amplification, which NAD says keeps the analogue, digital and network sections from interfering with one another. The result is 2 x 70 watts of continuous power into 8 ohms and 2 x 120 watts into 4 ohms, enough to drive most speakers in a real listening room without strain.
BluOS streaming is built in, so the NAD C 359S doubles as a complete network player with high-resolution streaming, internet radio and multi-room playback, alongside HDMI eARC for TV sound, aptX HD Bluetooth, a phono input for turntables, a dedicated headphone output and a subwoofer output with optional high-pass filtering for a cleaner 2.1-channel setup.
C 569: A CD Player Built Around NAD’s “Music First” Approach
Slotting in between the entry-level C 538 and the flagship C 589, the NAD C 569 is aimed at listeners whose CD collection still deserves proper playback. A proven tray-loading mechanism with an NXP-based servo system handles disc reading, spindle speed, laser focus and tracking, while two proprietary technologies do the heavy lifting on the digital side: Dynamic Digital Headroom (DDH), which eliminates inter-sample clipping so transients hit cleaner and harder, and LMG’s QRONO d2a, which refines timing and resolution. An ESS ES9039Q2M Sabre DAC, a refined stereo analogue output stage and a clear front-panel display with CD-Text support round out a player that can serve as a standalone source or as a transport feeding an external DAC.
Built to Work Together
NAD designed the C 569 as a natural partner for the C 359S, continuing the brand’s long-standing approach of letting each product use whichever amplifier topology and power-supply technology suits it best, rather than forcing one house formula across the whole range — the same philosophy behind NAD’s recent work on Dirac Live room correction for its CI streaming modules.
Pricing and availability
The NAD C 359S integrated amplifier is priced at €1,199 and is available now from authorized NAD dealers. The NAD C 569 CD player is priced at €949 and follows in late November through authorized dealers, nadelectronics.com and Amazon.
