Franc Audio Modular is getting a structural overhaul for 2026. The Polish manufacturer, which has been designing and building audio racks, stands and isolation footers for more than 15 years, has reorganized its modular equipment-support line into three clearly defined tiers — Modular Basic, Modular Max and Modular Max+ — each offered as a complete rack or as a standalone platform. The idea, first introduced with the original Modular series in 2017, stays the same: buy a single platform to start, then add shelves or width as a system grows. What has changed is the engineering underneath, aimed at tighter mechanical rigidity and better resonance control across the range, alongside a more accessible entry tier.
The Franc Audio Modular Philosophy: Buy One Shelf, Add More Later
Every tier in the Franc Audio Modular range is built around the same premise: a listener doesn’t need to know how many components they will eventually own before buying a rack. A single platform is enough to start, and additional shelves, or an extra column for a double- or triple-wide rack, can be purchased later rather than forcing an upgrade to a whole new structure. Modular Max racks can also be converted between the bolted Max configuration and the individually stackable Max+ configuration using a separately sold kit, so a system built today doesn’t lock a listener into one mechanical approach for good. It’s a similar logic to the one behind the non-metallic Graphite Audio Enso rack system we covered recently: modularity and configurability are becoming a bigger selling point across the rack category, not just at Franc Audio.

Modular Basic: A More Accessible Starting Point
Modular Basic is the new entry point into the Franc Audio Modular range, aimed at listeners assembling their first serious rack. It uses a corner-post aluminum frame finished in matte black lacquer, with precision spike housings and aluminum pads bolted into each shelf for leveling and floor protection. The extra-large 650x520mm, 30mm-thick shelves are sized to accommodate essentially any component, and racks can be specified as single-, double- or triple-wide depending on system size. Owners can later swap the standard pads for Franc Audio’s own Ceramic Disc footers, or add MBAP anti-vibration platforms on top of any shelf, without buying a new rack.

Modular Max and Max+: Built for Heavier, Larger Systems
Moving up the Franc Audio Modular range, Modular Max and Modular Max+ use 50mm-thick, 650x550mm shelves paired with precision CNC-machined aluminum connectors and legs, or, in the Carbon versions, carbon-fiber connectors, legs and an additional resonance-damping layer bonded to the shelf itself. Large-diameter tubing keeps the structure rigid under heavier stacks of amplifiers and turntables alike. The difference between the two: Modular Max is permanently bolted together, while Modular Max+ adds adjustable spike housings to every shelf, so each level can be leveled and mechanically isolated on its own rather than as part of one fixed stack. Both are available in the full RAL colour palette or a range of wood veneers, in matte or high-gloss finishes.

Pricing and availability
Franc Audio has not published a complete international price list for the revised range on its own site. US pricing via distributor Monarch Audio Systems lists Modular Basic starting at $1,445, Modular Max at $3,630 and Modular Max+ at $5,645; it isn’t clear whether these entry prices cover a single starter platform or a fully configured multi-shelf rack, so buyers should confirm exact pricing with a dealer.
The revised line ships from autumn 2026, through Franc Audio’s dealer network and, in the US, through Monarch Audio Systems. Full configuration options are listed on Franc Audio’s own Modular Line product page.
